WINDOW SEAT TO CHAOS OVERLOAD


In her haste to stop the bond from happening, Ampere was blind to the fact it already had. She was in motion, going as quick as she could, but as always she wasn't fast enough - endurance was her greatest advantage after all, not speed.

So as she flung the child away from the egg and stumbled closer to dispose of it, knocking over the bumbling golem in the process, Ampere's gaze fell only upon fragments of a shell rather than the intact and round casing of a still-contained lifeform. Her gaze snapped next to the tiny whale staring up at her from the sands, and her ears fell flat as she exhaled loudly with frustration and dismay. Of all the companions, the air-whales were by far the most absurd and a clear display to her of the greedy whim's of mortals surpassing the needs of the animals'.

Somwhere in a nearby tree Kygo fretted.

"Have you bonded?" she demanded brashly, ripping her focus from the innocent whale to the disobedient colt. There was a mild slur to her tone, proof of the liquor she'd been suckling on as evening set in. If he had there was no point now in moving the egg or the whale - she would not have killed it (probably), but she would have tried to move it far away so it wouldn't have bonded. If it had failed to survive on its own that was natural at least, but bonding wasn't. Part of her however, especially one addled with cactus water, still thought death was a better freedom than a chained lifetime. It would be fitting punishment for her child's reckless and very clear rebellion against her wishes.

"HAVE YOU BONDED TO THIS CREATURE!?" she roared with impatience as she glared over her shoulder towards her son, electrical edges creeping in closer to the core of her body.
