Iskra
Let it go, just let it be, you be you, and I'll be me
An overwhelming sense of hopelessness and despair spilled inside of Iskra as he floundered on the sand, grappling for his feet and his balance, all the while knowing he was too far and too slow to stop her, but unwilling to stop. Each second he wasn't beside the whale to serve as a shield was another second it existed in peril.

He was left breathless from his shout, his flanks heaving with exgaerrated motion, wide pupils lost to white walls. He swayed as he finally stood, blood exposed on his hip where she'd branded him as misbehaving despite her own antics. Though it seemed his yell was enough to reach the mother that was buried in the storm, the torrent of her voice proved she was not yet finished, and Iskra feared for what end she intended to leave off on.

Reinforcements arrived- One a healer, which gave Iskra hope that any (physical) damage could be mended, and the other his elder brother, which renewed Iskra's resolve as he too faced off against the force that was their ma.

It wasn't enough though, not when Iskra was left with nothing other than his most primal emotions, pushed to a breaking point as terror seized him - a sensation furthered by the panic and confusion of the infant whale bleeding through the bond. It swirled amid Iskra's own array of what the fuck, a colorful eddy of neon orange haste and violet hysteria. His own emotions were plenty enough, so the added weight of the whale's proved, damaging, to Iskra, especially as he stood quivering with a child's guilt under his parent's anger, however unjustified.

His heart was hammering, his blood a deafening roar in his ears, Ampere's disappointment the other thing it couldn't drown out. Not until there was a roar of a different kind at least.

Where Iskra had stood a small lion now was, hunched over in obvious pain and blaring out a gutteral bellow of outrage. The shift had simply overcome Iskra under the pressure of everything, but the added stress of the morph and the physical toll combined with his emotional one was maddening. Ears flattened against his half-grown mane, whiskers twitching as lips peeled back in a snarl, fangs exposed with a rumbling growl.

All of this was because of her.

Tail lashing beind him, Iskra had enough, and now he finally felt empowered enough to do something about it. So he charged, paws flexing easily over the sand of his homeland, claws unsheathed as he leaped for her right side. He'd mark her too.
Holding onto something we don't need
All this delusion in our heads
Is gonna bring us to our knees
