oh, I see stars rushing through my mind
colours have no time to fade
All thoughts of a peaceful day evaporated when a call for a spar rang out over the beach - snapping the demigod’s attention to the one who had released it. Even from a distance, he had no trouble recognizing the formidable figure standing on a small rise of sand. Amaris.
Mesec had been thinking about how he needed to brush up on his fighting skills - especially in any other form but the warg - but the idea of causing anyone else harm made his stomach twist into uncomfortable knots and memories push at boundaries that had been put up in his mind. He liked Amaris, they were friends - or, at least, there was certainly great potential for them to become friends. She had re-joined the Edge recently and he had been hoping their paths would cross again without Tandavi there shooting daggers with her eyes in his direction.
He reasoned with himself that there were many capable healers in the Edge if they needed them - and, truthfully, watching the dragon mare as he approached didn’t give him even an inch of thinking he stood a real chance at beating her. She shone with a fire and intensity and looked every inch a warrior where he was a wisp of a shadow in comparison. So really, if he was going to fight anyone, it would be someone like her.
“I’d like to give it a shot.” Mesec called out as he approached, a shy but warm smile on his face. Though he thought about moving closer to greet her with a bump on the nose he suspected that wouldn’t be wise - considering this meeting was going to turn into a spar - so he paused while there was still a few lengths of space between them.
Lucius circled lazily overhead, his attention upon the pair and ready to join in with the fight if Amaris’ dragon did, but Lyra was still young and Mesec instructed her to stay on a nearby dune. Though the kitsune pouted - thinking this was a fun event she was missing out on - she listened and stretched out on the soft sand with her violet eyes trained on the silver and gold pair of hybrids.
