For Vadim, a life of solitude had become something of a comfort. With just himself and Vlasi to look after there was nothing much to worry and fret over. With just himself and Vlasi he did not have to try his hand at developing bonds that were as fragile as autumn leaves and as flighty as hummingbirds. Vlasi was more than enough to keep his mind occupied with her constant antics, incessant chatter, and her insatiable demand for adventure. Though, there were times when she slept that he found his mind wandering back to a time when a sturdy black pegasus mare, and a fragile white child had dominated his time and efforts. The mare had passed some time ago and he hadn't seen the child in many seasons. He liked to think that she was better off without him there for her to learn his bad habits.

Still, he missed her and he often wondered about her whereabouts. And what she was doing. If she was safe. How much she had grown. If she had taken after him and had a sudden growth spurt or if she'd remained as small as her mother had been. If she had been bonded, had found magic, someone to travel with and love.

This was one of those times where he stood motionless, staring into the distance while his mind bounced in a hundred different directions. Thoughts of Erthë and of Shadow. Then he thought of Varath, of Ophelia, of his mother and father, the Moon Goddess. His thoughts always returned to his only child and he began to wonder, once more, all the things he always wondered but would probably never have an answer to.

"Father."

Christ, he could almost hear her voice.

"I found you."

Vadim's head turned first and he looked behind him, blue eyes widening as he took in the sight of his daughter. His body followed suit and he soon stood facing her, looking bewildered. He didn't believe that she was actually standing there, she had to be a figment of his imagination. Or ... or maybe he'd subconsciously used his magic on himself and she was just a phantom and not the real thing. But when he nose touched him and he felt the coolness of her skin he knew, without a doubt, that she was real.

"Erthë..." He rumbled, his voice deep yet affectionate as he spoke her name. And why wouldn't he be? She was his daughter, after all. He stepped closer and reached to hook his neck over her shoulders and pull her against his chest. The action alone should be more than enough to speak for him.
