The babe watches ever carefully as his Da reaches over and grasps the items. Within a little worm of greed wiggles through him, and he wishes to take the objects directly. The moments before though still leave him clinging and seeking out the warm side, so the colt does not. Yet he would have it seemed some inkling of this father’s famous materialism.
His Da’s usually warm voice he finds chilled towards him. The child may be young but he could tell such an obvious change. He sea blue eyes at last leave the objects to look to the earth ones, his little ears falling back slightly. The same feeling he had felt when he had been asked what he was doing out here came over him again. Had he known what to name it, it might be called guilt, or trouble. “I-I found them…there.” His voice was returning to its more wobbled state, but it perked up yet again just soon after. “Can I keep them?” Suspension and anticipation hung on the words, revealing just how precious they were to him. Though there was one benefit to the swing of the conversation. The water pressing the sea blue eyes was drying slightly, blinked away by the confusion and allure of the rocks.
Or…bones…but there was one question still remaining to the child. “What are bones?”
