In a pool of shimmering gold clothe the child felt his world growing smaller, and smaller as it spun faster. ’Gal-‘ No! He didn’t want to listen, he didn’t want it to burn- ’Galahad.’ Eyes tear from the flames to the gold, but he does not relinquish his fear. He watches the gold brush the flame with suspicion. But then…a warmth like the sun….The sun. Oh how the colt had loved the sun. It was like the warmth of his mother and twin’s side, and stayed in the sky, watching and ever there like friend. But the colt was smarter than might be thought, and questioned. “The sun is made of fire?” A fear strained glance passes to his Da.
Yet the pull of the objects was strong…as his Da rolled them harmlessly in the grass, the colt finds his legs again, pulling himself up. But he still does not step forward. “But fire burns.” He persists, looking towards the gold.
