A pang hits the foal’s chest as he hears of the sun’s true nature. His gaze falls from his father and the bones, looking below, and within. The threat of his magic still lingered just as large, but he was standing…an improvement. Then his Da continues….and brings to light notions the colt had not considered before.
Sea eyes, with the white centers still and calm look up, as his head tilts. Strength. Power. How can something so fearful hold that? How can something which destroys give power…strength? How could the sun have felt so good, so wonderful and yet be made of such a destructive force? How could fire be so many things…The colt sighs, his mind grasping the subject, but lead to a million more questions that he was running out of energy to answer.
Rust colored limbs take a wary step forward, though he still eyes the bones, and he lays back down at his Da’s side. Pale nose reaches out hesitantly to touch the gold painted bone. It wasn’t hot. One hark and eye looks to his Da, but reaches again, this time closer. He felt a warmth this time, but no pain. Finally he grabs at the bones, and pulls it closer, trying to take care of the flame, but it brushes his knee. He snorts, worried, but he felt nothing but a small warmth.
Harks twist back as he goes against his own warnings, but he pulled the bones closer, to his chest, letting the warmth, addictively, and seep through him. Finally a sigh rattles his small body, and his head falls over him. By a familiar side, exhausted from the threats of his magic, and finding his mind already to full, sleep finally comes to lay over him. He fights it though- so many questions…. ”Tell me a story…” His sea eyes look up to the gold. “A story of the North…”
