The climate of their homeland was something the stallion loved. Living closer to the equator on the Loorien globe meant less of a temperature change as the season affected the rest of the lands. Though the ocean that surrounded their home dropped a few degrees in temperature, its chilling qualities allowed some respite from the hard workouts the General was putting himself through.

The battle he had fought had given him new cause to put his body to the test, every day was filled with vigorous exercise routines, gruelling endurance flights, and hours of agility work where he tucked his wings in close to him and danced his lean, athletic build through the natural obstacle course that was his home. His eldest daughter often accompanied him, but her young bodice was not yet capable of the torturous treatment her father so willingly thrust himself into.

It was obvious, however, that the stallion had been neglecting his family. His beloved mate, and his youngest daughter, one too young to participate in the exercise, the other too occupied fulfilling her rank to the herd and raising their youngest - he missed them. Whenever he had a spare moment that he was not filling with exercise, he was seeking them out, yearning for their company, their touch, their love. He felt dreadfully guilty, and again did not believe that he had done enough to earn their love, their loyalty, their devotion.

But devoted he was, to them. In the forefront of his mind as he completed another night of strenuous activities, he looked forward to reuniting with them once again - he had purposefully worked himself during the night so that he could spend the dawning day with his mate. His eyes, which were a deadly, crimson red in colour, morphed as he beheld the slim, attractive figure of his beloved Cassiopeia ahead, her dark form outlined against the rising sun.

As he came closer, however, he noticed something more, something different about her. The normally dark, feathered appendages that decorated her sides had changed, reflecting the colour of snow that still lingered in some parts of the northern lands. He thought that it was a trick of the light, but as he drew nearer, a golden mist seemed to hover by her perfectly sculpted tiara. A crooked smile softened the lips of his handsome façade, as he reached out to her, whickering warmly.

"The season suits you my dear." His voice was warm, drenched in masculinity and humour as his soft lips whispered the words close to the svelte auditory canals atop her poll. He made to lean his plush maw into the soft flesh just behind her ears, his warm breath rolling over her muscular, curved nape. There was one thing that would never change with this steed, and that was the love he felt for this beautiful creature who held his heart.
