Orbs watched the ground with fevered intent, catching sight of a small lumpy creature after only a little digging; skull lowered with nostrils flaring toward figuring out what feet had unearthed. Dirt and sloppy fragrances of mucus came, “a toad”, he thought. Craning neck, Midas reached for one of the many sticks that had fallen and gotten lodged within warming mud. One twist and he had obtained a pointed natural weapon. Brandishing the pronged limb, skull leveled the tip across toads back and jerked it down, his hopes rested on creating a frog shish kabob. Add a little herb and his unhatched bird would eat well. No prayers were said for this primitive creature, though he did acknowledge the gift. |
