trust your heart if the
seas catch fire

Birdsong came with much relief that year. It ushered forth an age of ease - a time in which the bitter frigidness and the ruthless nip of Frostfall became little more than an evanescing memory. Winter is dead, she whispered as a cool zephyr twirled the silklike strands of her mane. The world was a child that knew its poem by heart and each year it would renew the mellisonant verses that were the seasons.

There could not be a spring more beautiful than this.

The dove extended her maw to gently lip a cluster of ivory flowers which bloomed at the edge of the Grove's pool. Their plumes exuded a dulcet aroma, one that breathed the alacrity of spring and emanated an essence of life; rebirth.

Every living thing was practically bursting with color and vibrancy. Leaves began to burgeon forth from the once exposed, vacant limbs of the trees; sage, chartreuse and vibrant viridian. The air was filled with the sonnets of birds and Cassiopeia found herself mirroring they jubilance. Even the sunlight was young and gentle, basking the world in a peaceful glow as it rose gradually into the azure vault of the sky.

The morning yawned with nonpareil beauty - it was one of those days in which the light was implicit of summer and covert winter was confined to the shade, withering beneath the equinoctial veil of rejuvenation. She sighed, cherishing the cool breath of the wind as it brushed across her coat.

everything is held at length

At last the season had changed and she would have thought that would make it all better. But it didn't. There was new set of challenges confronting her, and tugging at the strings of her heart. Some might think she could choose an easy path from it all, but that wasn't true. One or the other left her with consequences, and she would simply have to continue on the one she was walking. Maybe, she really did lack conviction herself, but she cast a wary sigh not wanting to dwell in that thought.

It was with some trepidation she entered the Secret Grove with curious eyes. This place seemed too beautiful for her to disturb, and the whispers on the wind claimed it for lovers. The red maned rather not run into any of those or a wanting stallion. The ring of trees was what had attracted her in attention in the first place, missing greatly the forest of the Edge that clung with mist. Slowly feeling the soft earth hit her hooves for the first time in months she took a moment to relish the feeling. Then slowly dipped her head to let her nostrils faintly touch at the plant life below her. It smelled wonderful, new and fresh as it should. With glowing orange light rising higher she, in no hurry, began to wander among the thick trees feeling the warmth of the sun now and then upon her hide. Her charcoal colored coat was still quite thick, use to the short time of the sun and length of cold. It did not bother her not to be a shedding mess yet.

Taking turns along the Grove she let her senses take in the changes of this place. There was distance song of birds celebration, and the scent of collected water that made her curious of it's taste. The horned lady rather not get to lost in the surroundings, and payed mind to look for signs of others or being trailed. There were too many spies, and she only wanted a free moment. The deeper she came she did not meet anyone but the inhabits here until something light in the shadows seemed off. A hesitant step, and adjusted sight she saw the pegasus laying down. There was no detection of death, pain, or fear. Faelene dared another stride closer. "Are you all right?" Her alto tone would reach out for their ears so quietly as if it might disturb slumber. With weight steady upon her pillars she braced to run away in case this subject proved hostile.
