Birdsong; it was if its very essence wafted on the breeze. The Oracle could almost taste it as it danced across her tongue and feel its slender fingers as it swept the long tassels of her mane. It seemed to exude a dulcet fragrance: that of cacti flowers and palm trees undulating in the soft tug of the wind. The sun was a great, incandescent disk strung from the clouds and its illumine racked the land in an ardent glow. Its warm lips united passionately the earth and the sky with vivid semblances of light, each ray cavorting across amber acres as if rejoicing in the God of the Sun's return to power.

It was welcoming. It embraced the roan dame as if to coax her onward. It nurtured life, and occasionally Cassiopeia would catch a glimpse of one of its delicate works of art, swaying gently in the breeze. Primrose. They were scarce, but each flower's ivory plumes were magnificent amongst the unobtrusive desert landscape. Some cacti sported small, magenta buds. Beauty was most certainly in the eye of the beholder. Where most saw desolation, aridity, there was always something more to be beheld. Flowers were not particularly abundant throughout the rolling dunes of sand and yet that was what made them so beautiful in their delicate, eye-seizing splendor - like a glimmer of hope in a vast sea of mundanity.

Azulee was exuberant each time she cast her gaze upon one. Sometimes she would even nimble on their colorful petals, the taste sweet and dulcet. "Do you know where we are going, Azulee?" Asked the star breather as the filly admired the colors of a yellow cluster of flowers. She sniffed them curiously, wings held out at half mast as she listened half-heartedly to her dam. "The God of the Sun has returned. Birdsong is on its way," she muttered, mostly to herself. Something strange had happened days before. The sun had disrupted the moon's reign in the midst of the night and the land had trembled as the two seemed to battle in the sky. The Sun God had returned.

Azulee peered toward her mother with a look indicative of faint worry. "Mom, do you think he'll like me?" The lightning child had grown significantly. She was still a foal, but at five months of age she was finally weaned. Flight was something she had yet to fully master but little by little it came. It only helped that she had inherited her parents genetic affinity to exceptionally large wings. Cassiopeia gave a reassuring laugh. "Of course he will. And if not-" She stepped toward the filly, pressing her maw against her cheek in an affectionate gesture. A puff of warm air furled from her nostrils. "Then I guess that's his loss." Her voice was confident, assuasive. Cassiopeia was sure he would at least admire the filly's passionate nature. She was a creature of light, afterall.

In the distant there flickered a narrow pillar, unaffected by the throes of the wind and the elder mare hastened her pace. Her hooves thrummed in the rhythm of a canter and she peered back at her daughter endearingly, almost running sideways for a moment. She gestured her head toward the flame as massive wings partially unfurled. "Come," she called, a smile spread across her lips. Azulee stood for a moment before following suit, the wind cooing softly in her ears as she accelerated. She stopped next to her mother, watching as the mare she so adored delved down within herself, calling upon the deity she had yet to cast her gaze upon. "Step back," bespoke the Oracle, and Azulee did, vibrant eyes filled with curiosity as she awaited the fiery being's arrival. "Sun God, you have visitors."

The fire grew brighter and hotter by the second, until the flames danced onto the sound, bouncing like real, solid matter. Light beams burst from the center in diffracted rays as the orange and yellow heat began to take shape.

Orange flames cooled to deep blue and took the shape of the moon. Then, bright orange flames engulfed the blue moon and burned it up. The fires returned to normal then, leaving the Throat in silence.
