It wasn't the appearance of the equines that helped to fuel Kou's anger, but the way they appeared, slinking in like snakes. Her blue eyes, normally so full of kindness were hard now, especially as she looked at the black and white mare. "You act with calmness when it's your home that's burning around you." The white mare challenged before turning back to the Sun God. Seconds later he was nothing more than a pillar of fire, shooting up toward the sky. Kou shrank back as the heat of it all threatened to singe her and steal the breath from her lungs. Her eyes widened as the fire took on the form of a dragon and angled itself at the Seer who was thrown like a ragdoll against a tree. Immediately, Kou began to move toward her then stopped as the icy spikes shot up into the air. Hail began to pelt them again and the fire dragon roared before disappearing. The hail turned into a gentle rain and, finally, the fires were put out. Kou heaved a sigh and looked around at all of her charred herdmates and she felt tears sting her eyes. Some of them were bad off, looking as though death had already taken them. She could only be thankful that she had suffered only minor burns to her legs and hadn't ended up like their poor Seer or their warriors.

"Kou!"

"d'Art?" The mare turned, searching out her doctor. When she found him coming toward her she looked him over, seeing that he'd been burned as well but relieved that he was not as bad off as some of the others around them. "Are you okay?" She was concerned for him. His injuries might not have been serious, but he was still injured and would have to heal their herdmates. She was already worrying that he would put too much into healing everyone else and injure himself farther.

Still, Kou moved to d'Art's side and moved with him as he searched out the Seer who had already taken off. Instead of going after her they went to Korra, who had foolishly attacked the Sun God. Her body was severely burned. How the mare was still alive and breathing Kou had no idea. One of her ears tilted toward d'Artagnan as he grumbled to himself. When he finally gave her instructions to remove the vines, Kou went to work. She was careful at picking them away from the burned flesh. In spots they seemed to be stuck. The little mare tried to be as gentle as possible in removing them, but she had a feeling that if Korra should be conscious she wouldn't think it was so gentle.

With the vines removed Kou watched as the burns began to heal because of d'Art and his God given magic. She looked from Korra's body to d'Art's face and couldn't help but admire him for his abilities. Still, she worried that he would exhaust himself with all of the healing he was doing now. And there were still so many more needing his attention. "Be careful." It wasn't a suggestion or criticism,, merely a request and she hoped he would see it as such and not get offended.
