it has come to pass...

The last couple of days had been a little more than what the white mare had anticipated from deciding to stay here, in Helovia. She didn’t know for how long, but so far she had encountered more action then the past worlds she had traveled through to get to Helovia. Recently having been invited to join the foothills, she had readily accepted, as she hadn’t been sure where else she would have found protection. But she had yet to visit her herd land. Finding more intriguing things to experience in the other terrains of this new world. She had ventured to thistle meadow and had found it quite pleasant, though, that had been during the night. Now, she had traveled since then through the densely populated thicket and had somehow ended up in this bog. She couldn’t exactly say this was her pick of choice, but curiosity won over, and so she had continued on through the marsh.

The fact that it was midday did nothing to help the white unicorn find proper footing, and many a time found little pockets that would catch her off guard. If it hadn’t been for her feather light strides, she surely would have injured herself. For these pockets were tricky and were everywhere. There was no way of depicting them. And so she took her time picking her way through the foggy marsh. She was paying more attention to where she was placing her hooves than to where she was heading. On occasion, she would look up to make sure she was staying on course, as to the only true route through this horrid mess of a region. She would have to remember never to come back this way. It was definitely not the type of atmosphere for a creature of her caliber.

What good would it do her if she wrote off certain parts of this new world, and then never having the knowledge she may need sometime down the road? It was better to encounter these situations, before finding out from others, and predetermining certain things, instead of being objective minded. As a storyteller, she had much to share, but keeping to a confide area, would not give her anything new to share. Plus with a wanderer’s heart, she would never fully be able to stay in one place for too long. Given the opportunity, she would partake in as many adventures as she could. I guess you could say she had never had the experience of staying in one place for too long, hence her need to always be moving. Kind of like a gypsy at heart. A traveler. Always seeking for something. Anything really that would be intriguing enough to make her journey worthwhile.

"Well aren't you a darling little bastard? You're lucky I didn't poison your dumb ass. Wouldn't want to waste it on you anyways."

It was the sound of poisonous words, of the female tone, that had reached her ears. Icy and cold they were and so audibly close too. She would have guessed, this other fem was just around the bend, but did she dare interrupt. According to her speech, she assumed there was another annoying participant in the company of the pissed mare. What really did she have to lose, right? Following the already fresh hooves prints, left behind one of the two up ahead, she rounded a huge tree trunk, and saw the two strange bickering equines. The mare literally almost at the stag’s throat, metaphorically speaking of course, but her posture said otherwise.

The mare was of the blue roan coloring and f your typically equine race. No wings and no horn. No strange wolf thing either. Though the other golden and white painted stage, he was of the unicorn race. He had a few years on her, she could see, but his childish acts said otherwise for the maturing of his behavior. Though she had come to realize, most male driven species were like that. They held a childish aspect to them. It was the mares who had seemed maybe to forget what it was like to be a child, with little to no care in the world. But perhaps, nowadays, and with her case, she had had no one to care for her, but she still had turned out damn well, or at least so she had thought. But it might have been the result of another inner being working in her favor. Or maybe it was the fact that she had practically been running from those who wanted her dead, and fighting for her life. Fighting to keep a body alive that she could feel dying each and every day.

Before the stag could defend himself, the white mare, quite a contrast with the background of the marsh and her now fellow companions, took a step forward, reading the body language of the blue girl and replied with her own response. It was subtle and calm, but with a hint of a little command in it. A persuasiveness that would make one second guess their motives, before deciding if they should really carry them out.

"You are right, blue mare. He does not deserve the pain you could offer him."

Her words of choice, put together, sounded ancient. She was expecting the fire lit orbs of the mare to burn into her, but she was ready if that were to be so. She had been an outcast, defending her life for too long to care what others thought of her. She was so young in the measurement of time for a unicorn, but she had spent enough long and agonizing years as a human, to have experienced what maturity was. Being back in her pure state, the wisdom that was known to the unicorn race had seeped into her with no hesitation. She had quickly picked up on the things that had started to wither away inside of her, as a human girl. But the fantasy stories she had been told, back at her boarding school, had kept the fire inside of her true self, burning and yearning. Always seeking, but never finding. It hadn’t been until she had stumbled upon a portal that had separated her from her worst night. Though in the back of her mind, she always wondered how long it would take before THEY would find her and not only hunt her down, but everything living thing like her.

"Pardon, I had no intention of disturbing either of you."

She hesitated, not knowing if introduction were something of importance here, especially given the circumstance. So she held her tongue and respectfully awaited the response of the other two, to determine the next possible outcome that awaited them all.
