BEYOND HERE LIES NOTHING
Floundering forward the father squeezes what little energy remains in exhausted limbs and forces them to rise, “Onni,” voice bleats weakly, no longer feeling as second in command in their homeland; but young and lost, “He was attacked….” Disbelief presents itself; Midas still couldn’t understand why would anyone want to harm such a sweet natured soul? A more present thought was taking shape as well, why hadn’t he paid closer attention?

A familiar glaze comes over the eyes of his most trusted doctor; Midas swallows his fear and grasps her words as a drowning man to lifeline. Standing by now, head limply hung as if lifeless attachment, but honeyed eyes remained ever watchful of the magic she pooled and summoned. He had seen her summon healing talents once before, that time it had been a creature of less importance to him. A small tiger, abused and beaten by the very creature that it was bound to; that tiger had refused help and slithered away.
