ROUND 3 - ends in 72 hours 1/16 11:16 pm HST

The horses prove to be a strong species, much to the boggart's surprise, and annoyance. What was to be an easy meal was turning into something of an effort, but in a desperation to consume them, it strove on. Each panicked flail from Vermillion and every strangled breath of pain or fear nourished the boggart and it salivated ash as it ravaged the land, the sogginess of the rain evaporating beneath the immense heat.

If only it could be a continuation of taking, draining, destroying. The horses were not for lack of giving however, their hooves eager to smother the flames and escape the horrors plaguing them.

A hiss of spite and agony fled from the molten maw of every flame as it was squandered by a kick here or a stomp there. Yet when Valentine drove his overgrown nails into the face of his fire, the boggart reeled back with a piteous scream so severe the nearest tree trembled back to its frostfall bare. All of the flames withered in an instant, each curling in a wisp of smoke, all personal fears dissipating as the boggart once again fell silent and unseen.

Once more the battle may seem won, but the hunger, the thirst, continues. The the boggart feels worn, it has strength left to endure and it is certain that it will outlast these feeble horses.

If darkness did not paralyze them and fire did not chase them away, then perhaps they would respond to a more natural, valid threat.

A yowl shook the air as a mighty tiger strode from the remaining brush around the Heart. The feline was a slender composition of muscle and grace, beauty and might. Golden eyes cut through the thick of the crowd, landing upon the unnaturally marked horse, TINGAL. The boggart laughed, the sound a dreadful thing coming from a cat. He lunged then, the massive tiger, paws swift and teeth ready. TINGAL would know him to be his father returned from the grave, ready to tell his son all about life and death, but in this case, Tingal would be the one dying as the tiger leapt to land on his back, teeth seeking to rip at his nape.

The others were not without opposition as this happened however. From the grasses lines of striped cats surrounded the first, each targeting a horse with the subtle tilt of their gaze. As the first moved into action, the others broke apart as well, each racing after what they hoped to be a meal, paws and teeth snapping at whatever they could reach.

The boggart knew it would not be enough. It was the private fears that it truly found delectable, and so for NADIRA, the tiger made sure to leave it's mark, lunging at her throat regardless of her actions. No matter how swift she was, how brave or fierce, the teeth would find her jugular and yank it free, blood spilling down her pale breast. NADIRA would die, or at least, she would think so. The reality might be different, but what truly separates dreams and waking anyway? So long as she believed, she would suffer.

Meanwhile, LEVI would notice the form of his lady love Phadra had arrived on scene just as the chaos unleashed. Confusion was plain on her face, but it seemed to spark when she noticed and recognized Levi. She began to approach him, but was soon bowled over by two tigers, her body being torn apart. Could Levi watch his love die, could he let her last breathe wheeze past without her ears ever registering his unyielding affections for her?

The boggart laughed to itself, and so it seem, each cat grinned.

Defense: all attacks from the previous round were taken by the boggart, however the flame was an extension of the boggart and the 'main' boggart insivisble as I said, so any direct attacks to the main boggart were just taken by that character's fire boggart instead.

Attacks:
-- a tiger is attacking each character
-- Tingal is being attacked by his father
-- Nadira is being killed by a tiger (but not in actuality)
-- Levi is watching Phaedra (fake) being killed by a tiger

Again there is no 'main' boggart, the cloud is no longer present, each tiger and each fear is the boggart. And all attacks made by him are really more illusions than physical harm, but so long as this thread continues it should be played as actual and physical damage, exceptions being obvious illusions like Osiris copy, Nadira dying etc.

I hope this clears some confusion up!
