The Boggart is dismayed to once again find that it's attempts at terrifying these horses has proven futile. Perhaps it knows nothing at all about these beasts, it things with a certain tired sorrow. They have withstood the dark and the cold, braved the wildfires and entrapment, and now defend themselves with hooves built for running when faced with magnificent teeth and claws.

Even their personal fears they bested. With terror clutching their heart assuredly, but they remained, a force to be reckoned with.

The Boggart should have expected as much when it was defeated by such horses down in the Heart. Rage blinded the more sensible side of the dark creature, a rage which had since dulled to a terrible ache. Revenge and adrenaline had kept the Boggart's spirit strong, but now it watched its felines be smited with a kick here and a kick there, and horses working together everywhere. They truly had become an army in the end.

All the strength left in the Boggart finally subsided as Tingal threw the final blow to his feline fear. All around the tigers has dispersed, reeds of grass made up of shadow and light, as soon as they were struck. A low, pitiful whimpering seemed to come from the center of the field, d'Artagnan's stare a heavy thing the Boggart shouldered as it began to unwind.

Composed of nothing true and real, the misguided creature merely dissolved into dust. The wind tossed it easily into the flames, a brief souring of smoke the only sign of anything out of the ordinary.

The Boggart was dead.


Nestled right where it had lingered last, near the hooves of d'Artagnan the Nightshade, a smooth and gleaming egg sat. It had been a treasure stolen by the Boggart, perhaps hoping to eat the dreams of the developing child, but now it remained cold and alone.

In the end there were 4 fighters tied so I did a die roll to determine the final winner as the Boggart HP had run out. I pre-selected the number 1, and whoever rolled closest to that would be the winner.

The Boggart's HP was decided by the number of fighters. When we started we had 10, so the Boggart was given 30 originally, or essentially 10 hp for 3 rounds. Mandrake dropped out very early on however so I reduced the Boggart's HP to 25 instead. Although Djinn never posted, I didn't know that would be the case so the number wasn't adjusted for that. Although 25 seemed a good amount for 8 fighters still.

The idea was if everyone had a max of 2 attacks per round and used it, the boggart could have been defeated in 1.5 rounds. However this was not the case, and fighters became more evenly matched as the rounds progressed not able to exploit the weakness of the Boggart nor utilizing their attack maximum.

The RE had a physical and magical strength and weakness, which was to be displayed through the RE's writing so fighters could pick up on it. Notice each time the Boggart was attacked in the face/eyes, once in round 1 by Comadre and once in round 2 by Valentine, the Boggart's attacks all stopped, it screamed and went invisible.

Basically every attack was taken by the Boggart, since it was powerful in producing attacks to all of you. The only exception would have been entirely unrealistic/implausible attacks, but there were none in this case, and any that did crop up seemed to be due to confusion so I reapplied them to the Boggart in another manner (i.e. attacking main Boggart cloud, which was unreachable, made it as cloud horse was attacked.)

This type of RE Boss with a set HP to be defeated through fighting is a new system and we'd love to improve it. If you have any feed back to offer it would be much appreciated. You may start a thread on the comments board about it or just pm the Official account. Even if your thoughts are simply that you didn't like it, that is useful also as we don't want to continue a style that no one enjoys!
