"Who are you? The horse's voice carried through the wind until it tickled Vy's ears. The sound hung in the air for a moment before vanishing. There was no trace of it. She half wondered if she had heard anything at all. There was almost no proof that any...thing was here, or there? Where was it coming from exactly?
She turned and scanned the forest with a new-found depth. She paid attention to anything that might grab her attention. She had thought she saw it to her left but it had disappeared. Then, suddenly, it, he, flashed back to life in front of her again. Not knowing how long he would be there for this time, she paid special attention to take in all that he was. Though she couldn't see everything, she could take in some major details.
First, he wasn't quite ghostly though he wasn't entirely here with her either. He flashed, as if he was made of static. He was constantly varying his place, never standing still in one spot. The look on his face could be described as lost. Not exactly unpleasant or bitter but not joyous or happy either. Maybe it could be described as kind of glazed over? Not much showed through that she could see but perhaps some of that could be attributed to the fact that she couldn't even really see him. She only saw one version of him, perhaps like looking through rose-colored glasses in a way.
Vy walked a touch closer to where she thought he was. Guessing at where he would be when he appeared again, but kept her distance. "My name is Vy." She spoke softly, and was eager to hear him speak again. "Who are you?...What are you?"
She couldn't wait to hear the horse speak again. What could this thing be? It isn't quite a horse, or it isn't quite real perhaps? As she stood in the thin layer of snow, she ran through the possibilities. He could be a ghost? Or maybe he's an angel...or demon? Nothing earthly, or it doesn't appear so? Maybe something happened to a regular horse but then what could he have done to deserve that. Best to distance myself, he could be very bad indeed. Then again, what if he's just misunderstood. Poor thing, maybe he really is lost.
