"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Recognition dawns on Casimir’s face despite the fact he cannot see him, voice and scent acting as a mark that the older stallion could read like body language. Surprise is evident on his face despite the empty blindness of his eyes. It has never bothered Kipp, the image of those sightless orbs. Muzzle, white as snow, moved towards his skin to acquaint himself with Kipp once more. The yearling allowed it, basking in the presence of the one brother that didn’t terrify or anger him. Anger was something he kept very well hidden, mostly because he didn’t recognize the emotion himself. It was well buried beneath fear and obedience, but someday when he was older he would most likely discover the emotion. Until that day, Casimir would be his safe haven. The one he could turn to, the only one aside Evers and Emerson he actually enjoyed being around. Teasing tone makes Kipp laugh, a sound that turns more masculine with every season he experiences but still remains a light-hearted giggle of youth. It is true he has spoken rather ironic words but Cas doesn’t seem bothered by them at all. Conversation turns slightly worried and somber, though no less a happy reunion than before. ”Emerson and I were trying to find you all! It wasn’t easy to follow you. I haven’t seen our other brothers…Mother is the same from what I can tell,” he responds easily, for he has very conflicted emotions about Mother but will not lie to the blind man.
Another approaches, and at a pace that startles Kipp. Immediately he recognizes the dark coal form of his other brother Knox, but something is far different about him and the colt is worried for him. There is something very wrong with Knox, and he is both worried and afraid. He is not much older than Kipp, but Knox is far different from Kipp’s happy and curious nature. Distracted from his worried inspection of Knox and the panting, exhausted Manhattan, he almost misses Casimir’s curious question. Turning to face him, though blue eyes remain on the brother that stands in silence. ”It’s…it’s Knox, Cas.” Turning towards the ebony youth once more, concern on his soft face. ”Brother? Are you alright?” Worried gaze moving from Knox to Manhattan, sighing softly at her. Whatever was wrong with Knox, her physical appearance worried him. Sharp bite drew him from his thoughts and he yelped to himself, knowing better than to go against the ingrained nature not to make a sound when in pain. A spider went crawling back down and dropped off into the grass. Kipp sulked to himself as he felt a tiny throbbing where the bite had come from, hardly more than the size of a needle but it was still there in the back of his mind. He had half a mind to crush the creature but would never do something like that. That, and he didn’t know where it had gone anyways.
