Shade suddenly finds the meadow as clouds float to block out the sun. They quickly grow in mass and soon begin to turn from fluffy and white to a darker grey. In the distance there is the rumble of thunder, but nothing otherwise alarming.
Perhaps the dry, parched ground will finally find some relief from a summer thunderstorm.
The weather quickly takes a turn for the worst as lightning pierces the sky and strikes one of the meadow's red oaks. Because of the drought the tree catches fire. Branches fall to the ground, setting the meadow aflame. The fire spreads quickly, heading toward the two pegasi that have sought out the meadow's solitude. Lightning continues to streak through the sky, threatening to strike once more and set more of the meadow on fire.
