Note, pleased with Cera's small nod, closed his eyes. He had to think of the perfect way to describe this story, for it was one that was incredibly dear to him. He knew this story by heart; it was one he had told many, many times. And not just to foals - but to adult horses as well.

"Once, there was a little pegasus colt, he was giggly, and kind, like yourself," Note began, flicking his eyes open to stare into Cera's, "his life was perfect. But one day, he lost everything. He was on his own for a while, but he wasn't as lucky as you. The colt found a daddy, but he was cruel." Note's green eyes stared to turn a shade darker as he described the life of the young colt. "He taught the colt nothing but how to kill for the first two years of his life. The colt lost his laughter, and didn't know what love was. But he realized this life was wrong, so he ended the life of his daddy. His daddy was not happy, and fought very hard for his life, but lost in the end. The daddy didn't leave this world without getting his revenge on the colt. His hooves were sharper than thorns - they cut through the colt's side and gave the poor boy a large, gruesome scar. He should've died from the amount of blood he lost, but he didn't.

"He should be dead, but he's not. He still has a terrible scar on his side, though. It stopped him from flying for a very long time," Note's eyes returned to their shimmering green as he turned to face the wind, "but pegasus are children of the sky. You can't keep them from flight for long." The stallion grinned as the wind played with the tendrils of his mane and forelock. He lifted his wings, his scar clearly visible to anyone.

Note's scar was gruesome, it hadn't healed properly at all. The scar pulled and throbbed as he lifted his wing, it was certainly painful. After two years of living with it, he had grown used to the pain that the scar had caused him. He wondered briefly what Cera would think of his new knowledge of his own past, but dismissed the thought. He couldn't predict anything that a foal would do.
