        he burns hotter than the sun

Pale hide wandered the area, his dark legs lost in the soot and smoke that came from the pit itself. He craved the heat, the flame. His mother was a cold one, loving the snowy hills and that around her, but not him. He hadn't seen her in a long time though, and even longer since he'd seen his father. Instinct told him to seek the hottest place, for there is where he would find his father. He hoped that it would not lead him astray. So far, his instinct hadn't yet. He remembered the look of his father, and the smell. No doubt the stallion would still carry bits of that salty air about him. It was a smell that stained his nose. He'd grown so much since they'd been in Anarore. He had found Ktulu and Ophelia again, but he didn't need them now. He had gone and listened in on a meeting and he had said he'd join the cause but he had a cause of his own.

Only his father could understand the way his mother had. Unicorns were supreme, but he had never uttered it. He had been handed over to Paladin to raise and the stallion had a weakness; equines. Zeki didn't speak a word to them, only ever to the twin girls. They'd been the only ones that had earned so much. But how would the pale stud look and act with his father? Would his father even still be the same? Long white strands snapped on his legs as he dusted his rump of the soot, thinking about what would come if he found his father. If he did, would the two then look for his mother? Or had the stallion found himself another love of some sort? Zeki didn't know any of this but he wondered a lot.

To the side he watched as particles fell into the pit and sparked a flame. Then he watched as it spit ash into the air and it fizzled out. He flicked an ear in it's direction, curious, but then bored quickly. He was looking for any sign, any at all, that would lead him to his father. He'd been named for fire for a reason... That reason was his father, so where was a better place to start?
