Sulwyn

what is this world we live in?

A silver coat flashed brilliantly under the sun's radiance as the form of a dainty fae clambered her down a rocky slope. Her hooves slipped along the thin layer of sand and they caught onto the rocks frequently, sending jolts of pain up the mustang's legs. Though it was not an easy task to walk down the sheer cliffs of the Edge, the salty aroma of the ocean compelled the grulla to come closer. She had never seen the sea before, and now that Tallsun had come she couldn't wait to see the source of the noise that kept her up at night.

Living on the wide open plains for her first three years of life had not prepared the mare for such a cacophony of sound, but she found herself enjoying it more each day. Even though she hadn't made any friends -- or enemies-- and wasn't completely used to her new herd, she couldn't help but feel like she had already gained everyone's approval. Like she was awarded with hope and prosperity because she just breathed. It was liberating to feel like this after so many months of aimless travel; after so many months of running away.

Finally reaching the golden beach, Sulwyn smoothly changed her gait to a gentle lope. The hot sand beneath her hooves was a great change from the mud she had been traveling in a few weeks past. It felt nice to feel dry again, and to finally be rid of her matted winter coat.

In a moment of pure ecstasy, the vixen threw her head back and let out a chiming holler; her call reaching back to the steep descent she had just climbed down and then echoing back, over the calm blue sea. Her silver mane whipped around her face as the wind blew at her from all directions, and the fae didn't think that it would be possible to feel as joyous as she did now. The only thing that dampened her mood was the thought of her parents, and what they were missing out on.

If only they could be here to share this precious moment with me.

 Levi</style>

The roar of the foamed ocean washed over his silver hooves as they gently sank into the cushioning sands. It was now TallSun so the weather was back to its heating rays. The cool liquid satisfied the now sudden change of the atmosphere. The grullo’s silver legs and stomach were drenched with the trickling saltines of water. The brute enjoyed the beach when it was hot, but his favorite part was swimming in the water cooling the stallion down. His graceful stride made him look stunning as the trickles of water outlined his leg and chest muscles. Levi was glad that he was so in shape and he also was also pleased that he got to spar to do it. Levi was recently promoted to Sergeant of the throat so all of the training sparring that he had to do was making him extremely sore. The saltiness of the ocean’s body stung his legs, which were filled with cuts, but he knew that it would relieve him soon enough.

His first memories of the shores were coming back. This was where he had first met Phaedra, Yin and Yang, and hung around with his friend Note. There were so many memories that clung to the depths of the waves, that it made him feel relieved. He was happy that all of the memories were here because they were good ones, not bad. His thoughts were suddenly transmitted into the sands before him. Little specs of sand rose and a memory scene of all four horses replayed one by one. He did not plan for that to happen, but he was thinking about it so hard, that he magic started to take effect. There she was, Phaedra meeting up with Levi for the first time. It brought a smile to his face as he watched the scene play on. What a perfect moment it was… next he saw Yin and Yang. The two of them talking with Levi and then they all went to the Throat, and finally he saw him and Note racing together up towards the ocean.

Levi enjoyed what his magic had just done, but he was suddenly interrupted by a piercing shriek. His eyes perked forwards instantly as his silver orbs found what had been going on. A silver figurine was in the distance, but he could not make out if it was a horse on not. Making his stride go into a trot, the brute kept his head high before making his way closer to the figurine. Once the figure was in view, Levi noticed it was a pretty grulla mare. It reminded him of himself since their coats were practically the same silver color. Stepping a few feet away from her he kindly asked “Is everything alight mam?”

[OOC: Ack, that was horrible sorry! ]

Sulwyn

what is this world we live in?

The crash of waves against the shore masked the sound of racing hooves well that Sulwyn didn't notice the stranger until he spoke. The sound of another voice caused the mare to shy away, her legs splashing into the creeping ocean as she side-stepped away. This was becoming a more and more common reaction, and it upset her that she was so easy to startle. Just another thing for me to get used to, she noted.

Stepping out of the water and back onto the beach, the grulla swung her golden gaze to the form of a silver stallion. It momentarily shocked the mare to see another beast of her color, but the moment passed just as quickly as it had come. Though it was true that she hadn't seen many equines with her coloring, what truly shocked the mare were the two massive wings sprouting from the well-built muscles on this stallion. She had only been in Helovia for a few days, yet it seemed that she was constantly in the presence of winged equines. Perhaps she was the type to draw attention to herself, but how could that be possible when one was so shy? Shyness didn't stop her from being polite, though.

"Everything is fine, kind sir." Golden orbs looked upon silver ones, trying to read into their emotions, but it seemed that they were almost as well guarded as her own. Then again, Sulwyn wasn't always the best at reading into the intents of others.

"What brings you to the ocean today, if I am allowed this curiosity?" And curious she was. Back in her homelands, the mare had been notorious for brushing off the playful gazes of the young suitors, anxious to find mates in the heat of Tallsun. It was uncomfortable talking to those her own age, but if it were her parents or elders that she were speaking with, she could converse with ease. Sulwyn couldn't fathom why; wasn't it the elders that were constantly after her to mind her manners, and wasn't it the other colts and fillies her own age that couldn't care less on the matter?

Yet here she was, admiring the brute's well-chiseled figure and his powerful wingspan. She envied him, for having a pair of such fine appendages, but knew that she would only be clumsy if she had wings of her own. The scars on his body worried her -- was she in the presence of a violent warlord? -- but he seemed nice enough. He hadn't charged right into her, had he?

Remembering that she had not yet introduced herself, the mare moved her silver lips to say, "I am known as Sulwyn, member of the herd at World's Edge. I am honored to meet with you, sir....?"
{ Don't fret! It was fine. Awkward first meeting is awkward. XD }
