The stallions counter attack was strong, Tio would give him that. The dun stag gasped as hooves crashed into his right side, forcing the muscles to ripple as they absorbed the impact and he felt his ribs scream at him in agony. The stallion had also barged into his stomach as he had been reared back. Winded, and bruised, Tio found it hard to calm his breathing enough that he could stay invisible for long. As he stood where he had landed, he kept flickering in and out of visibility. He watched Levi, his green eyes gleaming in the dim light like pools of acid. The stallion was young, in his prime, whereas Tio had left his prime years behind him. Experience was his friend, and with that, he had critical thinking to his advantage. While the brute strength of youth was on Levi's side.

Tio took a single minute to come up with his next attack. He did not have offensive magic in the sense that Levi did, and as he watched the sand begin to rise he also noticed a flaw in this plan that Levi was concocting. The sand that rose up, forming a wall, had to weave around the trees which anchored themselves to the ground with roots that dug in deep. The kind of sweeping attack that Levi was setting up was suited for an open battlefield and the forest was a natural inhibitor to the challenger's actions.

What the sand wall did do, was inhibit the dun's eyesight so that he could not see very well, hindering his aim and everything else that would tilt the scales of this battle in his direction. In that sense, Tio chose not to act and to act at the same time. He moved only to shift his position, bracing himself for the attack and anchoring himself to the ground as best he could so that he would not be swept off his feet should Levi decide to send the wall at him in an attempt to knock him to the ground. Tio closed his eyes so that he wouldn't get sand in his vision, trusting his sense of smell and hearing to track Levi's movements.

As the wall of sand struck his left side, he staggered sideways with the force, feeling granules of sand scrape his pelt. Thanks to his actions, he did not fall or stumble far before regaining his balance, but the sand had left a long scrape in his side, causing beads of blood to stain his sooty coloring and the brindle slashes with crimson. The stallion turned then, knowing his predicament was bad. He flinched slightly, shaking off a cloud of dust as the layer of sand either was shaken off or dug deeper into his coat, and irritating the wounds. The older stallion felt battered and he knew very well that he wouldn't be able to keep this up for long. Still, he refused to give up like this, and he placed his agonized feelings to the back of his mind, refusing to allow his thought process to be influenced by pain.

He narrowed his eyes at Levi, his head low as he panted hard. "I'm getting too old for this..." He muttered to himself before he bolted forwards again. Rearing back, he struck out with both hooves towards Levi's face. He did not stop there, he paid close attention to where his hooves were aimed and battered his hooves repeatedly against Levi's neck and shoulders. The force of his blows was tempered by the pain he felt in his bruised and bleeding sides. They hindered how far he could reach and how long he could stay in the air. He did the best he could with what he had, though. All the while his teeth were trying to get a grip on the back of Levi's poll, or his throat. Tio was trying to end this battle as fast as possible by going in for the kill.

Summary: Tio realizes he is too winded to maintain stillness long enough to go invisible for long and stands there flickering in and out for a while. He sees Levi gathering the wall of sand and realizes that he can use the environment to his advantage. He lets the wall come, bracing himself so that whatever the trees and bushes don't block of the wall won't knock him off his hooves with the force.

Next, he takes notes of his own condition and realizes that Levi is a lot stronger than him currently because Tio is both older than 10 years and also out of practice. Tio decides to end this quickly by using physical power and skill. He lunges forward at Levi, front and center, and aims a double-forehoof punch for Levi's face and then strikes his forelegs out at the other's neck, chest, and shoulders.

Finally, as he's in the air battering Levi with his hooves, he's also trying to get a grip on Levi's neck with his teeth, either at the back so he can crack the challenger's spine, or the throat to tear at Levi's Jugular. He is making a very real attempt to kill Levi in order to end the battle.

Attacks: Lunged towards Levi head on, reared up to aim a strike at Levi's face and proceeded to batter the stallion's neck, chest and shoulders. Attempt to bite at Levi's neck, either behind his ears, or at the throat.

Defense: Braced himself for the wall in a position that was between two bushes. Used environment to take the brunt of the magic, and took the remainder like a pro.

Injuries: Bruised right side. Slightly winded from having his stomach punched. Bleeding scrape on his left side.
