It must have been the direction of the salty wind that failed to alert him of another presence. For once, Talbot was oblivious, his interest taken entirely by the giving and pulling wake of the ocean. The sound of hooves crunching into the sand was the first indicator, and instantly Crowley was on alert, turning his head to settle his gaze on the stranger.

Her coat was a shining buckskin beneath the Tallsun sky, and the flirty expression on her face might have sent a colt head over heels. Her words, light and airy, complementing and kind, caused a twist of discomfort in the stallion's gut. However, he was no colt; he was bitter and set in his ways, older than most he'd met during his travels through Helovia. Not to mention, he loathed equines, such as the one who had come to approach him. But despite his cruel ways, the brindle still loved to have fun, so he would play along for now.

"Aren't I?" He spoke up, lifting his head with the slightest arch in his neck, his golden gaze following her as she slipped past him. For a moment, he simply stared, not having expected her to just keep going. Cocking one ear to the side, the brindle grew silent, before giving a snort of disapproval. Who was she to say such things, then simply keep on going? Did she compliment every stallion she waltzed past? Not that he truly cared, after all, but it would have been a fun act to play for a few minutes. "Alright... Nice meeting you?" He finished off, unsure of what else to say. He sure as well wouldn't be following after her.

Adjusting his stance back to its original stance, he went to focus his attention back on Talbot, who had paused only briefly in his playing to pay the buckskin an ounce of attention. However, the sound of a sudden howl drew the pup's attention away from the waves, and he grew still for a moment, yellow eyes wide as he searched for the culprit of such a noise. Then, he spotted the other pup, whom he recalled seeing once or twice before. In an instant, his tail was in wild motion behind him, and he bounded forward, quickly closing the gap between himself and the other pup, but not without a little stumbling here and there. He aimed to pounce on the pup of earthen and red hues, and pull him down to the sand in a playful romp.

Looking to Totem when he spoke, Crowley gave a welcoming nod of his head, admittedly surprised to see the silver bay out and away from the Basin. He didn't come off as an exploring type to Crowley, but it wasn't any of his business. "Totem," he spoke up, casting a glance to the two pups before redirecting his attention to the other stallion, "What brings you out of the Basin? At least you stopped to speak with me." The latter of his words was spoken just a little louder, directed at the retreating mare, although he could care less whether she came running back or disappeared in the distance.

I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith
