"There'll be no more hurting."
A deep voice rumbled from the depths of the nearby shadows. It belonged to the brother with crimson forelegs, Madyrn. He pulled himself free of the forest, his twin doing the same not a moment later. They looked down at those gathered, not in a derogatory sense, but because they were taller than most of those present, and held their crowns high atop the end of their thick, arched nape regardless. Eyes of a predatory orange hue peered our from beneath thick, dark forelocks, as the brothers moved silently, with all the grace of war-hardened warriors, to the side of the Seer, the side of their kin. They may not have known these creatures who share their home by name, but that did not matter - they were a part of the Edge, the Qian, they were family, and therefore the brothers would die before seeing harm some to them.
"Unless of course, you decide not to take the advice of our Seer here."
Maskan's voice added, reconfirming what Hellena had said. The Protectors watched as the little belle of the Edge extended a friendly note to the others once more - yes, the Edge was about welcoming newcomers, about extending and growing their family. But while they may have forgiven one trespassing, if done in a way that still respected the inhabitants of the land, they could not forgive one who not only trespassed, but stirred trouble whilst within the borders of their land. The brothers were domineering in their presence, their body language was relaxed, yet poised to leap into action if necessary. Their expressions were passive, indifferent - truly, they did not care whether the intruders left or not, they were equally happy to watch them leave of their own accord or else become more forceful in their insistence.
"I suggest you make up your mind swiftly though. We aren't known for our patience." In perfect synchrony their voices hummed a deep, very real warning, though it was spoken in a very casual, polite manner. It would be foolish indeed, however, not to heed their words.
