This ancient stag seemed almost pleased with their response, but at the same time Apollo found himself straining to spot the said emotion upon the horned-one's weathered features. He was an odd creature, the Paint noted, and if the circumstances were different Apollo would probably inquire as to just what he was... In a completely innocent way, of course. Yet, as fate would have it, this situation wasn't meant for such meager conversation, and when the ancient-one's echoing vocals rang through the air once more, the Earth Medic listened at rapt attention. 'My child has fallen ill, you see, and the trees have told me of your kin's abilities to heal.' That took Apollo by surprise. The trees had told him? He could speak to the trees, and they could speak to him? Idly the stallion wondered just how the ancient stag had gained such an ability, but he wasn't jealous. No, simply intrigued, for Apollo had yearned to listen to the trees since shortly after arriving in Helovia. The words that swam through the air caused Apollo to frown. His child was ill? That wouldn't do. The monochromatic stallion's heart lurched for the stag and his unknown child, for if there was one thing that Apollo cherished above all else, it was the welfare of a child. Dipping his head in what he hoped was a respectful gesture, the Medic spoke. "Of course, sir," he answered, sincerity swelling with each syllable, "I would be honored to help you and your child to the best of my abilities." As he spoke, Apollo's honeyed orbs flicked to Midas, waiting for the Pegasus' words of acceptance. He knew that Midas would say yes, for honestly he didn't seem like the type to turn down such a humble plea, but Apollo wouldn't make the decision for him. |
