She is still, by the pool, watching the rosy sky through the glassy pane of its surface. It is quiet; far too quiet and she is uneasy, alone with her own reflection and the birds singing in the trees. Birdsong has come with a smile, chasing away the snow with her warm hands, growing the grass green with her gentle breath. The mare leans down to graze on the tender grasses by the calm pond, biding her time.

Mauja may be king but he is not her King.

There was a reason Mauja had left the comfort of the World's Edge and traveled to the Grove. The minute he arrived he saw her there. She was alone and he advanced toward her, saying nothing as he finally came to stand beside her. The stallion said nothing as he touched his nose to her shoulder. No words needed to be spoken, really. They were both there in a sacred place, a King and the mare that he was going to make his Queen.
