Sulwyn

what is this world we live in?

A pair of weary golden eyes flow over the mist-shrouded lands before them, softening at the edges with relief at the sight. The charcoal mare had had a busy few days, and she was more than glad to have finally made her way home to the Edge after searching the realms for the stallion she now lead in her wake. The brute had not been an easy find -- bits of leaves and bark still coated the fae's muddied bodice from her trek through the woods -- but she had found him at last, and now one part of her quest assigned by the Goddess was complete. All that she had to do now was drag the poor soul along with her to the Throat to pick up another wraith, and then their party could carry on to the Gods' shrine. The task seemed fairly mundane compared to others that the grulla had heard about -- at least no killing is involved, came Sulwyn's exhausted thoughts -- and yet she still found it to be trying of her character: being forced to travel to a land she had never seen before, and capturing another being that she had never encountered nor even heard of until recently.

The mustang still didn't understand why Mirage had suggested that she steal Sinding of all equines; even trying to free Angora, who was not an Edge member at all, had had a much more tactical advantage for the Qian, but she enjoyed his company nonetheless. It was always nice to receive some exposure, and her search for the stallion had been an interesting journey in itself, although nothing particularly exciting had happened -- at least not yet.

"Welcome to my home, traveler." The words came out like a tinkling of bells: assertive, yet shaky. Sulwyn still found it hard to acknowledge him by his name, for she always hated it when others addressed her by name without a formal introduction having already occurred, and she didn't feel that it would be right to inflict the same discomfort upon Sinding. It didn't feel... right. Like it was something that you would hold back from a friend because you knew that it would insult them.

But why should she care for this faceless beast; this brute that she had never seen before, and stolen his freedom from for her own personal gain? She had an ambitious heart, yes, but it wasn't like her to wrest someone away from their home against their will -- not unless it was for a great purpose. Perhaps she was just reading too deeply into this, and the thought of her selfishness was just that; a thought. But it wasn't against the sun-branded fae to just let something like this slide.

Golden orbs danced across his mahogany frame and a wave of heat swept through the silver mare's body. Ducking her head to hide her sudden flash of shame, she murmured, almost inaudibly, "Thank you for coming with me."
