Look down
The ground below is crumbling
Look up
The stars are all exploding

There is no way this can end well...

The air was bitterly cold, passing beneath the extended span of her wings in swirling gusts, lifting her and teasing her balance constantly as she attempted to maintain a steadily wheeling altitude. From below, her grubby, mottled silvery-white, and grey coat would have appeared for the most part inconspicuous; concealment enhanced by the tense clutch of her charcoal black legs to her belly all breaking up any perceivable formation of the bulk of a body. No colour cloaking her airborne physique should have been solid enough to show as anything more than the subtle circling of a broken shadow- there were no stars for her passing mass to block. Birdlike perhaps she was, though obviously larger all sections combined in comparison. The sanctuary which harboured her brethren within the harsh climate of the desert certainly nourished such extravagant creatures; glamorous exotic wildlife that had naturally taken her breath away. It could have been possible that a barren, frozen wasteland such as this (which she could still barely make out through the thick, suffocating darkness) could house such creatures of its own.

Below, the slight figure of her ghostly counterpart remained in place and within record time a crowd assembled to surround her intruding appearance in their territory. Africa took a deep breath, holding it as yet another dark figure moved into place. Surely Sinuhe was aware of the danger which now clouded her in hostile, warning breath. A horrified tremble ricocheted down the length of her stretched spine, though she could not possibly have been aware of the groups bartering words. It was enough that the duo had invaded enemy territory; there would be no excuse to relieve the amount of trouble that would most certainly befall them- If they made it home at all. At least for the moment, Africa remained moderately safe and hopefully unnoticed. The ice-white Unicorn below however, was not so fortunate- whether she knew it or not...

I feel sick; I cannot go through with this.

Peering down from her nest of unreachable security, Africa tried to assemble the chaos of frantically spinning thoughts in her head. At some point Sinuhe would be expecting her to flutter down and brush their otherwise distracted focus with her dangling hooves. She was second guessing the plot altogether now though; regretting her decision to follow the newest member of the Throat, who was still basically in all respects, a stranger; fretting at the prospect of capture. Africa was possibly the most foolish personality dwelling within the entirety of Helovia. She remembered Lana glumly- the black filly who had allegedly been tortured by these very racists and Athena who could still have been below her in the valley, somewhere. Racisits... Perhaps, she wondered biting her lip, her earthbound companion stood some chance of ‘fitting in’, of creating some illusion that she was alone and seeking acceptance. Africa was entirely unaware of any previous conflict between Sinuhe and her pursuers- and similarly of the growing tension through the group as a result of said offence.

She swept around again, and again, any small existence of courage shedding from her prickling cowardly cloak; delaying her part in Sinuhe’s already failing plan.
