For a long while she was content to follow in his shadow, but her curiosity made her bolder. Farther and farther afield she wandered, ever mindful of where Father was. That is, until small voice caught her attention. Interested, she investigated, ears tilted keenly forward to make sense of the small voices. She listened, but didn't really understand what they were talking about. A distant yowl went unheeded, confident was the young dragonsister in her Father's not quite as distant presence.
In the end she almost tripped over the two pigeons and their unwitting prize. "Oh! Sorry!" She backtracked a few steps, lowering her head toward the two peculiar birds. "Whatcha doing? What do you want with that?" Her vocabulary had no word for the object they had been pushing against, for she'd seen nothing of its like before. Except Suli's egg, but that had been green, and this was not. Or so she thought. It did look dirty. Maybe it was green? Or maybe it was supposed to be that dirty color. She sniffed at it, but was unable to determine if it had anything else in common with Suli's egg other than shape.
