The bright and echoing chorus of a voice strikes Tiamat suddenly, ringing in her ears and lifting her to a position of alertness. From depths of the territory young Tiamat has yet to explore, the figures of a filly and companion appear, instantly alighting Tiamat's eyes with a smile. She pulls her body away from the heat of the spring shore, gathering herself instead so she might face the youngsters. They are both smaller than she, but neither seem to lack curiosity or excitement. Bemused, Tiamat watches their playful interaction, her white eyes scanning for the source of their entertainment.
A bone? She spies it, sitting at the pup's paws and regards the apparently precious prize with a somewhat skeptical look. Well, she thinks, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Fluidly she moves, turning from the springs and carrying herself closer to the dark pair on clean, cleft hooves. She does not miss the hesitant look on the filly's features, or the quivering of her words when she speaks. Tiamat finds the tentative nature all very charming, and not something she is above recognizing in herself. After all, had she not nearly stuttered in such a manner before D'Artagnan? The impressive position of the ranking stallion had thrown her off. Perhaps, by simply being older, she is doing the same to the brindled foal.
Gently, the blue buckskin mare reaches out with a soft nose to greet the filly. The touch is proffered carefully, and Tiamat still maintains distance between them. If the young one does not wish to return the gesture, Tiamat does not want to force her. She lets her sculpted ears catch the sound of young Rhiannon's name, and it molds instantly to her heart. Rhiannon. She will not forget the name of the charming filly with so much life, she thinks to herself. "You didn't bother me," she nickers kindly, her long tail rising and quivering to accent her speech. "I am Tiamat, I'm new to the herd. It is nice to meet you, Rhiannon," she replies, her soft and even tone striking the cold air of the Orangemoon evening and then floating away from her form. The delicate wildness about Tiamat cannot be easily described, but the congenial look in her eyes, the friendly tone of her voice, introduces her well enough.
With an easy sway, Tiamat lifts her slender head and wanders even closer to the pair, shooting a look towards the young hellhound. Her first day in the herd, and she has already met a kitsune and two hellhounds. She feels almost out of place without a companion of her own- is it custom to have a creature at one's side, here? But she supposes she always has the land to keep her company, and will always have the even gaze of nature keeping her safe. Her curiosity rises within her and she lets her questions ring free. "Were you born here? It is a lovely place," she comments, looking out and gazing into the distance. The expanses of ice that stretch before her are a beautiful sight indeed. Though the land may seem almost barren to others, she has quickly accepted it as her home. Even now, tired as she is from her journey, she wishes to explore. Her thickening coat catches the breeze and sends an invigorating chill through her. This is a new life, she thinks- something entirely different from any she has ever before had. She lets a smile find its way pleasantly to Rhiannon, the young child whose appearance acts as a symbol for Tiamat. There is much to see here; many to meet and much to learn. Tiamat is ready for it all.
