The brothers were wary, at this meeting. Not necessarily on edge (at least, mentally), but cautious, alert. Did they trust everyone at this meeting? It was in their nature not to - it was in their nature to question everything, everyone. The only souls they trusted without question where those related by blood - or those they had known their whole lives. This included Mirage, their youngest sister, and despite that, the one to rise higher than all of them; Rishima, their sister, not by blood but by love, the bearer of their child, Tandavi; Amaris and Semira, the daughters of their sister and Queen. The rest, including the draconic mate of their sister, were all prone to being scrutinised by their orange glares.

As their sister performed her theatrics, the brothers were sure to watch the crowd - trusting inherently that their sister would not knock them down with her great wingspan as she feigned falling off the cliffside. It was then that Maskan caught the eye of Smoke, and smiled to himself - perhaps she was another they could trust… Perhaps. She had been one of few to offer words of true wisdom in the meeting, where so many had simply jumped to conclusions, questioned and walked along the borderline of ridiculed the idea. It had not been an order their sister had given - had it? - but a request, one that she made after demonstrating herself many times. Mirage had gained so many things by helping others - she was a selfless soul, they knew this, and they hoped the rest of the herd recognised how fortunate they were to be standing in her presence as well.

Madyrn watched with interest as Lace arrived, spying the hesitation in breath his sister took as she spied him. But Madyrn's gaze was continually drawn back to that of his own blood, his daughter, the youthful Tandavi, with her dark smudge of a companion standing by her crimson limbs. In fact, he barely saw the reunion between mother and son, unlike Maskan, who watched it with great pleased interest, ears pricked towards this new stallion. The Edge was growing closer in family ties every day; it was a good thing that new blood was being brought into the lands as often as it was, for otherwise they would all end up as inbred as the pale siblings they had dealt with all those seasons ago, as a brother obsessed with passing on his pure blood had impregnated his own sister. Was their situation any different, he wondered suddenly - surely it was, for no blood had tied them until the birth of their daughter.

And so as the meeting moved on, both brothers were peering between Rishima, their daughter who stood by her side, the draconic queen who stood behind them, and the two young draconic children who stood by their domineering father.
