From the mouth of the cave in the deepest of night was a faint, blue glow. A circle hovered in the middle of the cave, mysterious and powerful. Arcs of blue electricity covered the surface of the blue sphere, humming and buzzing with the sound of power. Occasionally, a rogue spark would leap from the surface to the snow below, leaving a charred, black burn on the icy permafrost.

Obviously this entity held power, but who would it bind to?

This is a magic drop for spark and/or time magic. All you have to do is post to the drop saying that your character sees it! The drop for this type of magic will be entirely based on random draw. There will only be one winner!

Some nights Tonka loved to take walks.  He loved the feeling of the cold air stroking his dark bay body and how it perfectly camouflaged him in a blanket of black.  This night was different though, and Tonka knew it.  He had not known what had waken him today, but he knew that there was a reason his mind was telling him to continue walking.  His hooves tapped down on the icy ground and his blue eyes observed the land.  The fresh scent of the Frozen Arch entered his nostrils, filling the brute with blissfulness.  He liked to take walks alone.  Without anyone to bother him or question him.  He let his mind wander and wander until it came to the craziest thoughts.

A feeling of energy zipped up the stallion's spine as his eyes discovered something new.  Something he had never, in his whole life, seen before.  Out of the corner of his eye, a blue glow had appeared.  It was inside a cave when he entered it, and got closer and closer to the ball of blue light, he could see that it was a ball of energy.  A ball of electricity.  The massive steed's eyes grew huge with wonder as he stared deeply into it.  A bolt of electricity zapped from the ball and landed right in from of the brute, making him back up.  There was a buzzing sound erupting from this thing that rung in Tonka's ears like a mosquito.  How did it get here?  What was it?  Now this was something that Tonka could think about.

Magic is something that calls to even the simplistic of minds - perhaps it does so even more strongly, for there are fewer barriers between the mundane the supernatural to pass through. Gaucho, who would likely consider there to be more in the realm of the mystical and magical, than perhaps you or I, can feel the pulse of the orb, just as he can feel the dark magic that stirs inside.

Call down from the skies, having finished his patrol for the day, Gaucho senses the energy, like a beacon igniting the spirit-fire within. Even Mara, his normally mute companion, stirs in his antlers, flickering her forked tongue into the air. SSSSSsssSsss She advises. Grunting in response, Gaucho angles himself lower and lowering, until finally his hooves touch upon the solid and frigid ground. It is so unlike the Throat here, that Gaucho pauses, wondering if he hasn't somehow entered into another land completely. Before this thought can take hold, the pulse of the energy is calling to him once again, beckoning him further.

As he moved to the entrance of the cave, Gaucho can see a unicorn stallion, one who had had sparred with a time ago. With a non-committal grunt, Gaucho instead turns his gaze to the blue orb, which entirely captivates his attention.

I was peering from the heavenly fields down into a hidden valley, a mist cloaked the basin from my prying eyes; but it couldn’t hide the stretching mountains who seemed to always be full of stormy weather. It wasn’t so long ago that my first visit into the valley had been a rescue mission coordinated by Kri to spring my mentor’s widow woman. But tonight wasn’t one for missions or even snooping. For a good part of the evening I had prayed in blissful silence, a quietness that never seemed to be enough for hungry souls made to work long hours.

Something had called me from prayer. A stirring of magic, an old and powerful enchantment; it sparked my soul and caused limbs to rise and carry me to the very edge of this plain. It is a distant feeling, but one that I felt the urge to follow. My wings extend and catch air easily enough, I circle down into the cold world below.

Once upon solid ground with wings tucked snuggly to both sides for warmth, I look up and notice a familiar cave ahead—and beyond that, a faint glow. The source of said power was only a stone’s throw away. Limbs carry me toward the entrance, one inhale tells my olfactory senses that the air is thick with a pungent desert fragrance. I see this as a good sign, and slip across the threshold without hesitation. It takes a moment for my eyes to adjust to the strange ethereal light. Shadows are plastered against one of the far walls; both are larger than me—though one is recognized as one of Throats most prized soldiers as I round the bend and come into view. The other is an unfamiliar lad. My gaze follows their prying positions, noticing at once the reason we had gathered. A vein of pure energy.

Arah

Unlucky again, but that was just the way it went with the gods. They picked whoever they pleased, and if it wasn't you that was just too damn bad. The Time god had picked a darker mare from Worlds Edge and whisked her away. Arah felt a slight twinge of jealousy, but she knew all to well that that was the way it went. She did not complain. She was on her way back to the Basin but had decided to take a random turn and wonder down the Frozen Arch. She heard movement not too far away and of course curiosity got the better of her. She was careful and quiet in her approach, the golden eyes seeking out what was causing the disturbance, causing so many different souls to wonder closer with badly disguised curiosity.

Arah walked in through the mouth of the cave, a few shivers folling down her spine. In the deepest of night was a faint, blue glow. Her eyes focused on it, clearly seeing it and wonder filled her. A circle hovered in the middle of the cave, mysterious and powerful, was it dangerous? Should she approach and get closer? Arcs of blue electricity covered the surface of the blue sphere, humming and buzzing with the sound of power. She glanced around the group everyone else seemed to be staring at it. Occasionally, a rogue spark would leap from the surface to the snow below, leaving a charred, black burn on the icy permafrost. Her head tilted to the side studied it.

What was it? What did it do? So many questions swirled around her head but she didn't remove herself from the cave. She wanted to touch it, see if it would hurt her. But she didn't dare, what is this mysterious object belonged to someone? Arah wondered if it was magic, maybe it belonged to a god. Should they plan a way to return it to one? Or would it simply disappear once the god found it again?

So many questions which no doubt would be answered in time.

Haunted by my eyes, the way they hold your attention even in the loudest silences.

Irrydae found herself venturing to the cold, very cold north again. She did not know why, but she hadn't last time and she had encountered the God of Time again. But she does not go far. She stays near the ocean, letting the wind send salty air into her nostrils. Irry lets her wings drape over her sides, stardust floating around her legs as she walks. The wind blows harshly and she clenches her muscles, golden eyes looking at the barren landscape before her. There was only shrub here and there to make a difference. She had come in the night, the coldest time possible, and she regretted it.

As Irrydae meanders on, a blue spot in the distance catches her attention, and she squints her eyes, confused. She picks up her pace, legs stiff as the cold cuts through her sleek pelt. Why did she come here again? The blue glow becomes larger and brighter as she approaches. Glaciers rise up sharply, leaving tunnels and caves. Irrydae is drawn to the light, like a bug would be, and she finds herself appearing at the entrance of one of the entrances, others already there. Again she recognized one of them, Arah. She was running into her everywhere now. The mare stands alone this time though, inching forward to look at the sphere that hung in the air, golden eyes peering at it curiously. There were six here again. It was growing tighter with all the bodies in here, and Irrydae pulls her wings in, orbs glued onto the ball that sparked out in short bursts.

they want rain without thunder and lightning

After being rejected by the God of Time, the filly is feeling a bit petulant. She makes her way back to the desert on foot, giving her time to brood and ponder. He seems like such a pompous bitch, moody and arrogant. He hasn't earned her faith, to say the least, even if her magic is forged of his element. The filly has seen enough to decide that not even the gods are perfect. They are flawed, foolish even. Although she is well aware of their power, fearful of it even, she does not trust in them, instead relying upon only herself and her family. They are all she needs.

In the midst of her return, she catches sight of a gathering in a nearby formation of ice and, curious, she makes her way toward it. She carefully tucks her wings against her sides, furling them in a way so that the feathers cover the majority of her barrel and shelter her from the cold. Her eyes roam across those gathered as the child hesitantly penetrates the shadows. Azulee moves quietly next to Midas, his the only familiar face in sight. "What is it?" The lightning-child whispers curiously toward him, though her gaze never leaves the peculiar orb. What gravitates these creatures toward it, like moths to a flame? The orb merely writhes with electricity, arcs of static leaping from its surface, and she finds it intriguing. Whatever it is, it must be powerful to have commanded the attention of so many.

ENGINEERS CREATE THAT WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN

Ulrik had walked. Straight from the Dragon's Throat to the north, he had walked, a free man. A grin was plastered on his face at the simplicity of his "escape", and he let out a harsh, bellowing laugh into the deaf abyss of night. Either they were fools, stupid, blind, or they just wanted to prove a point, but he had gained valuable information when he was there. The engineer had been escorted into the middle of the belly of the dragon, and there, he had seen the design they were using from the bones of a fence. And he knew he could get in with a distraction. A machine to the wall, and he would have access, if, there was someone interested in such a thing.

The stallion was not overly interested in destroying the Dragon's Throat, but he was interested in testing his limits. He wanted to push his creations to a new level, do something wild, unheard of and absolutely, mechanically devilish. The stallion was feeling good, if the extra pulse of his heart and slight spring of his rolling gait was a feeling. It rattled through his skin like a jolt of electricity; he felt invincible.

A detour.

Something glowed from the mouth of a cave, and he was too curious, too powerful not to take a look. He was a beast, a monster, a wolf, a master of design and a creator of things never before fathomed by the simple minds that droned around him, and he would go and assess the situation.

When he arrived, he saw something entirely glorious, something he could not create, only imitate. An orb was hovering in the cave, arcing with blue sparks that ran the mechanical wolf which whirred soullessly at his fetlocks, and his leonine tail fluttered to the icy floor. A strange breeze flew through his bronze fringed beard, and his bronze eyes absolutely glowed with desire and lust. Oh the things he could make, and so many subjects here on which to create.

He wanted to strip them of limbs and replace them slowly. Pain could be tolerated, yes, but perhaps a doctor would need to be present.

And then he could finally recreated, reinvent, and augment a creation he could not make himself without involving some infernal female. A perfect equid. Half machine. Half blood. A monster, sophisticated, and flawless.

But he needed this orb, and his soul begged for it.

He was refused here: http://helovia.net/showthread.php?tid=73...1#pid48951

North.

The first time I had travelled this way with my beloved, I had sat upon her back, clinging to her deep, indigo hued mane with my teeth, as she flew through the skies alongside her leader. Today, we flew again, and I was much more accustomed to it this time. Her mind reflected images of travelling this far north before, though she had not lingered near the Arch on previous occasions. One time, she had travelled with her mother, the other, she had made friends - one of them I recalled was Ink, the dark, curiously wet smelling steed who met us at the Edge.

My experience of flight this time was far less horrifying than last time. I was used to the feeling of air running very quickly through my pelt, and slowly, I would get used to the height. I had seen enough heights when I allowed myself to view the world through my beloved's eyes, and now, as I clung to her back, I shut my eyes off to the world, and allowed her senses to become mine. I surrendered my soul to hers, feeling as if we were completely submerged together, her wings were protruding from my back, propelling us through the skies, just as my teeth clung tightly to her mane, she ground hers together - we were unable to tell where one began and the other ended.

The air grew colder, thinner, as we travelled north. My thick pelt barely felt it, but Cirrus', kept reasonably short due to the climate she lived in, felt it immediately. I grumbled as the goosebumps ran along my spine as well as hers, and without thought, I felt the flicker of heat ignite along my back, blue and white flames dancing in the treacherous flight we flew. With curiosity peaking in both of us, I saw through my beloved's eyes a familiar bulk below, and so we descended, landing with smooth ease alongside my beloved's little sister. Her muzzle reached out to the young belle just as I descended from her back, the flames along my spine disappearing almost as suddenly as they had originally appeared.

Azulee's query caused both of our attentions to be turned towards the object of everyone's focus. I smelt the air, and my hair stood on end due to the static that was so clearly invading the space. The scent was that of burned earth, but just how the frozen tundra was burning was beyond my and my bonded's understanding. Boldness was her name, Cirrus stepped forward, wings opened slightly so that she could make to shield both myself and her sister from this unknown entity - she was mostly ignorant to all the others that were present. Ducking my crown beneath her downy feathers, I watched the mystical thing with intent curiosity, and waiting, in silence, for something more to happen.

[Seeking this from her wishlist:
Magic: Spark | When activated, flapping her wings generates great amounts of static to form and build up. She is able to generate sparks that arc out from her prime feathers in blue lightning, and depending on the intensity of the flapping, contact with the sparks can cause numbness and severe burning upon point of contact.

    Congratulations to ARAH!

The orb passed in front of the ground, seemingly seeing into their souls, searching for something. Slowly, it approached a white unicorn with bold, chestnut antlers, and it bobbed a few times before compacting into a smaller sphere. Suddenly, it leaped through her skin, into her very chest, binding itself to her soul and melting into her essence. There, it would lie permanently, feeding her with power in a glorious symbiosis.

She would feel no pain, only power, strength and a new found, curious ability to stare deeply into the eyes of others. Perhaps, when she looked deep enough, she would find that she had a new, quite interesting ability.
