d'Artagnan stopped at the bottom of the path that lead up to the Heavenly Fields, watching Aramis with amusement as the pup seemed to have hiccups. For every two steps he took the next would be with a slight bounce as his body rattled with the little blighters. What was most intriguing, and the reason d'Artagnan stopped to watch, was that with each hiccup came a tiny burst of fire or small embers. Even the pup had a bemused look on his face as his mouth displayed wisps of smoke that was in fact natural for a Hellhound, just like a bird learnt to fly, Aramis must by nature learn how to breathe fire. That was in his blood and made up who he was. This was only the beginning of a long process and slowly, but surely, the hell dog would learn how to wield his fire properly. Until then, he'd just have to try his best and deal with strange fiery hiccups as well as the amused looks d'Artagnan gave him. No doubt later they would be followed with rather snide comments to amuse the shade further, much at Aramis's expense. Though all would be in good heart.

Still chuckling, d'Artagnan moved off up the difficult pathway that lead to the Heavenly Fields with his mind on foraging for more poisonous material he could take back to his cave of wonders. It was when he was nearing the top that he began to question his decision about coming to the Heavenly Fields, grimacing at the effort of the hard walk and grumpily noting the change in season meant his age had now gone into double figures. Which, on it's own, was depressing for the crimson boy who was very sensitive about his age. No matter, he puffed harder and carried onwards to the top, staring old age down with contempt. He would not be defeated by a mere number, the thought was quite insulting. The Nightshade would sooner have Mauja bump him off that cliff before any damned number took him.

Staring out across the field that was in the grip of winter, he first began to look downwards for anything interesting. After all, if there was a plant still thriving in these conditions, then it was one to take note of. However, it was a fleshy green stem that caught the shade's eyes. Instead, in was four pale legs and a scent that was strangely familiar. On the growl of his hound, d'Artagnan looked upwards sharply, dual coloured eyes falling on the painted form of none other than Solstice. His former captive, all alone and rather skinny looking. Taking a few steps forwards, the Nightshade smiled a dark cold smirk before falling to a halt a few paces away from her. Twisting his head to one side as he rather pitied her weak form and lack of horns, a creature like that only wasted space on the earth.

"Oh look what I've found, my old prison buddy. You have no luck do you, you've been caught in the same trap again little pest" came his cold hearted voice as Aramis snapped and growled at his side. Little flames still flying from his mouth and claws unravelled, sinking into the ground. This time he didn't really feel like taking her back to the Basin, in his mind it would only be a waste of time. It would be much better if she just... Disappeared.
