Dead.

It was over and finally d'Artagnan began to feel himself return back to normality. He was a strange beast, a deadly monster, he needed death like he needed air. Twisted and heartless he gazed at her body with nothing but an increasing sense of boredom. The deed was done and his hunger satisfied for now, he had no reason and to kill was his goal, death was his future. d'Artagnan knew all these things and the older he got the more fed up he became with the world around him, the more he tossed his head to the sky and smirked to the heavens. Was this it? Was this all the 'righteous' race were made of? He turned to Aramis and ushered for them to leave, to go home to the frozen mountains and the dark damp caves. Back to those who possessed more noble blood than the wench that littered the floor crimson behind him. Coal hocks lifted with ease from the ground, followed by the red stained paws of his hell dog and the pair, in a picture of calm, moved to begin their long journey home.

However, they had not gone far when the soot and merlot hound swung round, heckles lining his back and a vicious growl ripping from his velvet maw armed with sharp pointed teeth. Apparently somebody was there, though for all his peering d'Artagnan couldn't quite spot them. So he had been seen at the crime. By the scent it was another from the Edge, though the stud cared little to find out more. Flicking his tail, a picture of uncaring, he turned a blue eye on Aramis and snorted impatiently. "Come dog! If they seek retribution they know where to find us." Came sharp gruff tones, to which the hell dog quickly scampered, heckles still raised and throwing the odd glance over his shoulder. Red markings coming to life once again.

With that the pair left the Heavenly Fields, leaving behind their victim for her family to find. The Nightshade wondered if they would indeed come after him, he would be sorely disappointed if they didn't, would they really leave their precious hornless without revenge she so deserved? He thought more, wondering if they'd cry and enjoyed himself over the mental image. The crimson monster chuckled deeply and madly all the way back down the rocky path, eyes wide with deathly fire.
