Snow; cold, blessedly beautiful snow. It drifted through the air like ash, settling on branches overhead as well as the leaf strewn ground until there was nothing but a field of white sentinels in place of trees. She herself was covered in a thin layer of the stuff, her golden patterns obscured by the powder as she made her way once more through the Threshold, having found that there were few to be trained within the Basin that actually desired her assistance. Thus, she had wended her way down the mountain side to become useful elsewhere, ever watchful for the creatures that Psyche had warned her about upon their reunion; while she hadn't seen another Illynx, she was not too keen on seeing her, either.

She walked with her dark pointed crown held low, the golden horn protruding from her brow glistening with the subtle moisture that permeated the air. Her ears twitched atop her pristine features, charcoal and creamy tan muzzle breathing in the scents to be found on the crisp winter air. She enjoyed the subtle crunching under-hoof as she moved through the time traveled paths within the entry way, naked branches running their stiff fingers along her sides when she moved too close past dark, snow dampened trunks. The tips of her exceptionally long tail was completely covered in the white stuff, having turned the normally silky strands into a club like object at the ends; thankfully for Illynx, there were no insects to swat away in this season, the last few lingering flies having dropped dead at the first site of snowflakes, but she still found the weight mildly unnatural.

A bustle of noise up ahead let her know that at long last she had come upon a traveler, her head raising from the unbroken white trail ahead of her to the treeline itself, her body coming to a stand still as she huffed in the frigid air to catch a scent of what approached her. Unicorn, she assumed, as it didn't smell of feathers or an overpowering trace of earth; male and young. She decided to remain where she was, as the noises hinted that the bloke would be appearing out of the two tall silver oak trees in front of her. Within a moments time, just this happened; she drank in his appearance with vaguely intrigued eyes, a smile slipping over her face as she spoke. "Why, hello traveler," she crooned, her voice pretty and frail in the frozen air, a collection of breath trailing from her nostrils and parted lips, "do you seek refuge or refugees?" Was that rude? She wondered, but briefly, before delving into an examination of the prospective Basin member.

The boy was barely past his first year, a faintly golden shade that seemed to be succumbing to a pale, dappled gray, framed by violently orange hair in the form of a short, yearling's mane and a tufted lion's tail. He was surely handsome, a short and partially formed curved appendage rising from his brow, and as she attempted to meet his eyes, Illynx found them to be blue, blue as the core of ancient and thick ice. She assumed that he had been born here, as it was an uncommon occurrence for one so young to be arriving from the outside realms without an adult escort, but could not place his origin any better than she could most; there were few she even bothered to remember by name.
