The wind knows a lot about martyrs. After all, it's carried a lot of souls away.

The normally hot and sweaty weather of the Throat had abandoned me. It was muddy ground and tending to the raging fire had grown even more harder as the precipitation had rendered the fire limited as to where it could go and grow. If I could keep the heat u[ and keep feeding it a lot then I could take a break in between and either sleep, get water from the oasis, or just wander off to think and gather more information that I needed.

This time, I had wandered off. And quite far at that. Something was calling me though. Something that felt vague and familiar. For that, I had fed the fire a grand feast that would sustain its flames for a very long time. Long enough so I could go far off and return and still have enough time to sleep. This vaguely familiar thing turned out to prove my suspicious right. As I traveled to a glow that reminded me of my 'own' fire, I recalled this being Helovia's Heart. However, I was treated to an even greater sight when I saw an old aquaintance; the Fire Lord.

I approached with a warm smile, quite happy to see him once more. It had been a while, had it not? The heat coming from the Heart was like nothing compared to his golden, radiating body. Proud creature, he was, but I guess I would be proud as well if I was in his shoes. In these colder times, I supposed that he was here to remind us he wasn't gone.

I minded my distance. I was used to the heat from the Throat and the Fire mixed together by now, but as stated before, his very presence was searing. My warm smile mended into movement as my pronounced and warm voice entered the air to mingle with the sounds of everything else, including the other arrivals. "Hello, Fire Lord. The heat left and I was beginning to think you fell asleep." I chuckled slightly then nodded a hello to the others with the same warm and welcoming smile.

It will probably tell you that martyrs are not heroic. They're a tragedy.
