the beautiful is always strange.</style>

Andash could see with own ice azure pools that the mossy roan dame was battling with something inside her head. She was a cauldron of chaos and mixed emotions that seethed in her own olive orbs that glinted in the moonlight. He could not understand the change that had overcome her, but welcomed it nonetheless. With a look into the dark heavens with the thoughts of flying in it swimming round his handsome bleached crown, he turned his gaze and attention back onto Xira.

When she suggested they depart, Andash came crashing back down against the hard terra firma. He honestly thought that he would have been able to spend all night with the dame, getting to know her and hopefully towards the end have a sustainable bond that would last. But no, she obviously had figured out what path she wished to take. However, he caught a glimpse of something in her facial expression and poise, it was an odd sort of stature and her orbs shone with something. What was it? His reaction was complete and utter confusion.
He saw the petite vixen take a glance at the heavens also, and then onto his deformity. This was until her crown suddenly shifted it's attention away from it, as if unable to bear the sight.

The words that she spoke after surprised Andash to the extent that he took back all of what he had thought about the dame. She wants to see me again? Honestly? Disbelief struck him with a hot fire rod that gave him the means to feel triumphant. It was almost as if he had won a victory. He took in the information that the voice, now fairly sweet as the barriers of the silhouette's cold nature had been broken down. Dragon's Blood. That seemed particularly easy to navigate his way to. With a slight hesitation before a mumble of stuttering, the ashen brute managed to put together a simple sentence in reply, "I will be there." He took one step closer on his brawny bleached pillars and dipped his crown in acceptance and affection towards the dame, before regaining his signature proud posture.

Xira watched the emotions play across the stallions face with the strange sensation that they were all caused by her actions. She had always strived for control by being cold and bitter, but now, when she lost control, she seemed to tug all of his strings just so. It was a strange feeling; at last she was in power, and yet she felt uncomfortable. She didn't want to direct Andash, to tug at his heart and pull him along. She simply wanted him to be, because she liked him just fine the way he was.

Yes, it was clear that she needed to make her leave. Yet she still waited for the stallion to say something, wanting to hear his voice again and know that he would not leave her alone at the foot of Dragon's Blood when the morning came. She waited as the silence persisted, as Kye returned to her side and then flew off again. She waited as the night winds caught her mane and tangled it in the air, as the stars glittered and the moon shone. She waited as the world seemed to end and time seemed to stop. She waited until she heard his voice again.

She smiled. She couldn't help it but her lips curls up and she knew that this time the expression was genuine. She dipped her head lower as she took another step closer and bridged the gap between them at last. Her extended wing fell across his broken one and stroked it gently, her breath grazed his neck and her gaze caught his at the last second before she passed him completely. The slow walk against Andash increased to the pace of a trot, and then quickly to the gait of a gallop. Her wings pressed down against the night stillness, her flight feathers touching the ground once before she leapt forward and began her flight. There was a whistle, and in moments Kye flew by her side.

Crush, said the falcon teasingly.

Oh be quiet, Xira answered. And yet, as she headed determinedly towards the veins to cure Andash of his ailment, she found herself believing Kye a bit more than herself.
