World's Edge Glazier
And Shepherds we shall be
For thee, my Lord, for thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand
Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.

The touch of Kimber's muzzle to his cheek was slightly calming, but nothing could fill the void he was now feeling. His father was assumed dead, almost three years had fully passed since they had arrived in Helovia. Now... Here he was sobbing, over his mother's murder. He watched Kimber's expression change as he spoke, wishing the words he spoke were a joke. That his mother would show up perfectly fine and everything was just an awful nightmare. But even as he wished it he knew it was true. Alanna would never show him such things if they were not seen by her own eyes. It wasn't even as if she showed him something that already had happened. No. He saw it as it happened. He had been frozen, knowing he couldn't make it to save her in time but still wishing he could try. It had been Alanna who had been the voice of reason. She had flashed images of Thor and Mirage, of Lace, of both WingLeaders. These were the ones who needed to know.

As if Lace had read the painted boy's thoughts the gold covered grullo arrived. He had arrived some time before, but it was only now as he yelled at him to explain did the voice register within Aaron's mind. Alanna growled, still under the white dragon's wing. Oh how Aaron wished to go back and have the care free spar with them again. But that was not something he could do. The garnet and ivory pup suddenly moved, instead seeking comfort from Kaiden. He had no energy to explain, to tell what he had seen. He would when he could force the words out... But meanwhile Kimber had spoken for him. Shouted back the things that he wanted to say but could not just yet.

"You can't even give him the chance to mourn?" The words rang in Aaron's ears for a few moments before he spoke again. His voice was cracking with every other word but it had to be said. "D'Artagnan, the Basin's Time Mender.... And his hellhound.... Murdered my mother. I do not know anything more than that..." With that said he leaned back against Kimber, seeking comfort in her touch. It was the first real sign of affection between the two, but after all a good friend was always there when needed. It was clear that Aaron was in need of several good friends right then. His thoughts traveled to his little sisters... How was he going to tell them that he could not save their mother this time? That she was, never coming home....
