Unwaveringly did blue eyes meet golden, never backing down despite the words spoken so coldly by the grullo stallion in reprimand. She was no longer a child to be taught what was right or wrong at the whims of adults, whatever their reasonings. He had a point, but he was wrong. Not his reasonings, but his methods. But she wasn't going to argue with someone so set in his ways.
Some little bit of that was due to the fact that she was aware through her bond with Kaiden that not all was so icy. He heard the anxious little sounds from the white dragon, understood the meaning and relayed that understanding to the young mare whose soul he shared. Shared it even as he leaned against Alanna's larger form, sharing his strength with the hellhound.
Emblazoned head bent as raspy words were wrenched from Aaron's throat, sharing the precious knowledge of who did it. Her ears flicked forward, then back. Basin. Go figure. There was an intense desire within her to do something to revenge the loss her dearest friend had been dealt. But she didn't know what. What could she do? She was an inexperienced fighter, gifted only with magic and companion, but no practical knowledge of how to employ either to advantage in a fight. What she did know was how to comfort.
Silent, she waited out Lace's words, waited for him to leave. Then she shifted, lipping at and tugging lightly on Aaron's mane. "We should tell your sisters, they deserve to know from you and not from him. He doesn't have to be so cold..." Her voice was soft, tender, but gained a hard edge as her words trailed off. But then she had softened again, muzzle brushing against the painted stallion's cheek in wordless support and affection. She would be his rock to lean against, for as long as he needed it.
