SAGE
my sun sets to rise again.

Thank you, Sage. A swift, elegant nod of the head is given in return, with solemn eyes. The pain which comes with a definite loss at least comes with closure, something the family had been missing for years. While the former Captain was always pleased to aid them when possible, it pained her to see the weary lines of their face for even a moment. The drawn, uncomfortable silence fills the air for a moment, until the golden beauty strikes fire back into the hearts of the twins. It appeared the brothers grimm were just as fast to jump into matters of the herd as she, something for which Sage was thankful. Nothing pissed her off more than having to beat around the bush with ninnies.

Letting out a snort of laughter at Madryn's joke, the angel is quick to retort with humor of her own, with a cunning expression. "Men always are half as capable as a strong lady; just look at you two," a smirk growing on her face as she looked toward Madryn. "Twice the muscle, a cunning brother, and yet your younger sister sits on the throne." She lets one eye close playfully for a moment in a snide wink before Maskan begins speaking, her ears and eyes tilting immediately in his direction as he provides real news of interest.

Kaj and Destrier. Two that the golden mare had not met, so surely they arrived in this land after she had taken leave. Not much after, apparently, to assume her former position. She nods curtly. Two of our own were killed. Teal eyes turn with concern toward Madryn, who speaks of the death sentence of two, long standing members. Sweet, gentle Torasin, the palomino paint that always seemed to be present at Mirage's side before they claimed their home here. It was rather ironic that Solstice, another palomino paint, would be the second name, and the mother of one of their most promising - Aaron. She looks down sadly for a moment, whisper a small prayer into the stardust around them. Looking up with fiery passion in her pastel eyes, Sage mutters one word at the one brother, "Who?"

Instead of Madryn, picking up right where the other ended, Maskan begins to fill in more information. The "Assassins", whoever the fuck they were, appeared to be little threat to the home, unable to even keep their leader alive. "They sound rather pathetic, but we can wipe them out of existence like any other annoying fly," the golden mare says with a nod, her eyes wandering back toward Madryn as he mentions the Basin. Sage rolls her eyes, knowing that the ousted unicorns formerly inhabiting the Edge would always have a case of the ass for the Qian. That they had turned to murderous intentions, however, would not be accepted. "Which stickhead is responsible? The Lady herself, or one of the underlings?"

The golden girl smiles at Maskan as he welcomes her home, extending a feathered appendage to try and brush upon his shoulder in a sign of camaraderie. "Hold on tight, brothers. I am about to shake things up again."
