SEIREN

Your life means nothing to me.

Seiren feared that if she told Roland that d’Art was actually her brother, then he would report it to the Basin. She wasn’t sure if Roland knew that she did not want her brother looking for her, or if he did. If the golden did tell, then the silver figured it would be out of concern. Either way she decided that it would be better if she just kept it to herself. Seiren wasn’t one of tears or much emotion, but she just hated her brother so much that it brought a sour taste to her mouth and tears to her eyes. Every time d’Art was thought of she wished they were not related to one another. She hated him with all of her being and Mauja as well for basically babysitting her brother and for kicking her out of the old Foothills.
She held her tears back, thinking of how pathetic she probably looked. The girl just hated everything about her family and wanted nothing to do with them. Seiren didn’t really have a family because they didn’t want her either. They had all branched off long ago and decided to not want one another’s company anymore. They were fine living on their own. So Seiren did not really lie to Roland, she told what was the truth.

In the darkness, the Golden moved closer. Her dark orbs searched to find his placid gaze. He seemed to sense her anxiety and had a look of concern plastered to his defined features. Electric blues were soft like the rolling seas in the illuminant moonlight. She felt as though her ears were going to pin against her skull as he moved closer. The silver was not trustworthy of others. She told herself that she did not need nor want comfort from him because she was no filly. She just “seemed” to want space. Surprisingly, she found her cranium urge forward for her muzzle to meet contact with his. Her hot breath made a cloud that trailed from her nostrils as she looked towards him. What am I doing? She wondered to herself. And right when she was about to go to finish reaching for his muzzle, an unfamiliar voice crept in from the shadows.

Her head snapped sharply towards the sound. Ears tipped forwards as the different sound waves found their way to her drum. Cringe now settled in her veins as she saw that the voice did not belong to a superior. There was no horn atop the girl’s head. Suddenly her ears pinned to her skull and a metallic taste stained her mouth. Perfect timing she thought to herself. This was all she needed now… a dumb equine to make the situation worse. This night was just getting better and better with all of these surprises.

The silver felt Roland’s gaze shift towards the new being. She as well, turned her attention to get a better view of this trespasser. Squinting her icy eyes, Seiren sent a cunning smile towards the figurine with confusion bubbling in her system. The outcast examined the girl as much as she could before she felt Roland’s gaze upon her. She looked towards the golden with disgust plastered among her features. She knew that he was feeling the same way because the Basin was a racist bunch. She was glad that she wasn’t the only one feeling this.

After she listened to what both beings had to say, she looked towards the girl with a sly look. Tension seemed to fill the air “My dear, he’s right.” She hissed calmly. “You never know who or what you could find in these dark…” She gave a wry smile Cold,” She flicks her tail nervously Shadows.”
