I can't wait to meet you when the frozen waves meet ocean shores

Her body was as rigid and as frozen as the ice beneath her hooves. She glanced down, the whites of her eyes showing as her legs trembled. Her mind was a jumble of words, yet none were helpful. She did not know what to do, and even if she did she doubted in her ability to take a simple step. The ice creaked, calling her name with a low, rumbling groan.

Water. Ice. Drowning. Death. Mother, mother, MOTHER..

She squeezed her eyes shut as an icy breeze clawed at her ankles, teasing her. What do I do, a voice spoke and she shook her head. She didn't know what to do. She was so lost, so distracted by the water and the images and everything that tumbled around her skull in a huge, terrifying blur. What was that voice anyway? Who was speaking? Her eyes opened slowly, carefully, as if the faintest sudden movement from a single lash would disturb the ice and sent her tumbling into its depths. Yet as her eyes blinked open, she saw a figure moving closer toward her. Blood. As her eyes settled upon his crimson maw, her heart beats slowed and she felt herself being pulled back to the present. Artemis realized, with a gasp, that she had been holding her breath. Sucking in deep, icy breaths, she shifted slowly, closing the gap between herself and the stranger. She was too scared to care for her fear of touch, for her fear of water was much greater, so she tried to press her side against his for support, to guide her away from this hell.

The ice groaned louder, hissing angrily at her movements. A tender step was taken forwards as her eyes found solid snow and she focused her attention on getting to it. Her step was slow, testing the ice before placing her hoof, yet as her foot was planted a long crack snapped from the surface. The suddenness sent a shock through her body and she took a swift step backwards. Another crack and she froze yet again, heart picking up pace. "Please, get me out of here." She whimpered, closing her eyes yet again.

"Speech."
