The air was heavy under the weight of the height that bore down from the sun that was high in the heavens, it peaked its reach. Most was still, including the breeze which did nothing to comfort the creature that stood in front of the frondescence that descended out into open meadows of herbage, dried and frizzled in the heat. The glare of the sun reflected moss pools that scanned the area, a sense of paranoia clinging to his bleached and charcoal pelt like dried mud. The mind of the mammoth brute swirled as he constantly braced himself for a sudden attack out of the blue. The silks and thick fur of the beast insulated any heat from escpacing his large mass; it stood proud on the dry terra firma.

Sliding down the hill that led out onto more herbage, his silhouette halted as he smelt the air. "Horse." He muttered. The air was distinctly bearing the scent of an equine nearby, one that Gaspard dearly hoped was winged. Considering he was only a hornless, wingless equine himself, he desired nothing more than to belong in the realms of the winged beasts that soared the skies. He wondered how much easier his journey would have been if he had been blessed with the power of flight. A gruff snort sounded from the back of his throat, his handsome, proud crown lifted aloft as he began to trot closer and closer to the scent. Winged creature, please.

He soon found himself surrounded by nothing. Emptiness. The vast land was confusing him, the fatigue slowly catching up to him, causing him to halucinate. What a foolish, foolish thing to do! Silently kicking himself, he turned to face any random way, and began to make his way down into the further unknowns of this land, hoping for a place of respite and hopefully even company. For even a loner as he now was, he desired the company of other creatures, especially winged ones.

This was like the Gateway all over again, only that the Threshold was much closer to his home than the Gateway had been to Woodlands. Foothills and the Threshold was basically connected through the same big forest. He had spent early mornings and evenings to wander the paths when the sun was not burning through his skin and he had started to learn how to get around without bumping into trees and stumble over roots all the time.

So now he was back in the Threshold, following one of the paths and breathed the scent of a new nearby horse. He could also hear steps soon and his ears pointed forward happily. He liked to meet someone new and more often than not, it had been friendly meetings as far as he could remember.

He let out a soft neigh as a call to the other and continued to walk until the scent of the other horse got stronger. "Hello there! Are you new to these lands?" He called out, hoping to catch the nearby horse's attention. He was not sure how far away the other horse was, but he could hear the steps and smell the scent somewhere in front of him, so it could not be that far away. Hopefully close enough to hear his call.
