Deimos’ curiosity was piqued at the remnants of speech spilling along the icy framework and the decadent halls, tipping his cranium ever so slightly in acknowledgment of his inquiry. The other stallion made sense – he’d rather wander and find his way then twist and conform to a position he wasn’t truly tasked for. It was an astute, smart calculation: why ramble into an art lacking talent for its strokes? Deimos would not assemble himself into healing or engineering; he didn’t possess any of the aptitude, flair, or want of the ranks. While many in Nox’s position would find themselves grasping and coveting for a rank, for a challenge, for a conjecture and ripple in the cogs, become part of the frozen world and embark further into its raw clarity and grinding prowess, the stallion lingered in exploration and discovery. The behemoth shifted his muscles in a decadent shrug, mulling over the lack of rushing, of plunging, headfirst into their chilling world: meaning the black was not a rash, emboldened creature, but deliberate, perhaps conniving, maybe crafty, foxy, and cunning, taking his time to forge his path, to settle his roots, to turn over the foundations of the world. The Reaper was intrigued, and notched his confirming nod in a singular movement, bestowing the rites of acceptance and comprehension. “Understood.” The devil’s eyes roamed towards Rexanna once more, arching his brow (and had he been a more of the joking, laughing type, she could have ascertained it as a teasing motion), before turning his frame into the shadows and ice, maneuvering slowly away, away, away, allowing the newcomer to make his mark upon their chiseled earth. “When you have decided, come find me.” He bestowed one more nod towards the gilded mare for her efforts, then possessed the world again, twisting back into the hollowed hills and the glacial expanse, bestial damnation heralded from the spin of his strides.
