No, generally the girl was a very polite and well mannered foal who did proper introductions and only made people uncomfortable due to youthful ignorance and naivety. But this shock of seeing a stranger where she had expected the familiar form of her mother had pushed all thoughts of friend making out of her mind. Upon being accused of rudeness she just pressed the lips together in a sulky grimace and stepped out of the way, mind racing as she tried to figure out where the Blackbird could have gone off to.
Oh, there were so many places. The stream a ways off to the east, the glade with the lush grass down south, maybe the dense thickets where they had slept a few times while traveling back to the north... Or she might have taken off again, gone on one of those desperate searches for the Gods knew what, despite being sick and tired and in the company of her, Erthë.
Biting her lip in worry she was completely prepared to let the stranger leave - she didn't have the shadow mare tucked under a wing, after all - but before either of them had managed to lose the company of the other, a third figure stepped out into the clearing. And this time Erthë lit up in recognition, worry transforming into delight as she bounced over to the towering bear of a stallion.
"Hi Tembu!" she greeted eagerly, unabashedly charging in to wrestle a hug from his sturdy knees. He had been kind to her before, and someone who greeted her with such uncle-like warmth was automatically included into her generous idea of friendship.
"Yeah, we were going north and this is the shortest way. But I took a nap and when I woke up she was gone, and I think she's still around somewhere but I can't find her. Then this impostor called me rude!"
Slipping closer to wrap herself with feline affection around the stags front legs (she easily fit beneath his barrel and giggled as she made to duck under it, fearless and not the least concerned about his big hooves) and looked back at the mare, this Ne-fe-le with a hurt look that was only a little too earnest. Poking out her tongue at the mare - well at least now she did deserve to be called out for the lacking manners - she craned her neck to gaze up at her loosely acquainted friend, curiosity overshadowing the worry for the mother.
Shadow always came back, after all, sooner or later.
"Does the world have an edge?" she breathed, awestruck and fearful at the same time. "What happens if you fall off? What's on the other side?"
