Ezital cast a questioning look down at his hooves and back to the stallion.
"What position?"
He'd quite honestly never met someone so terrible at flirting. The concept wasn't hard to grasp, even if you were a hermit in a creepy forest. That innuendo was weak at best, and the look that accompanied was more rapey than inviting.
But it seemed that Ezital had unwittingly struck a nerve in his little rant. He wasn't sure which words had offended him, though. Perhaps he preferred tea sandwiches with the crust cut off and was worried that it made him less of a stud? Or maybe Ezital had accidently intruded on his favorite picnic spot and then proceeded to assume that the gold stallion had invited him. Hey, some horses liked to eat alone, he didn't judge.
Oh. Oh.
He was lonely.
That was okay; he was supposed to wait here anyway. He could grace the stallion with his presence a little longer. He was a bit on the socially awkward side, but his weird bantering was serving to distract Ezital from his initial discomfort when he arrived. He couldn't be all that bad, could he?
He made himself comfortable and shrugged off the stallion's next question. "I prefer a larger sandwich." He said innocently. Now that was a proper innuendo. Maybe they'd end up spending enough time together that the stallion learned something.
"You got a name? I can keep calling you scruffy in my head if you like," he tried to hide his grin. He wouldn't stop even if the beast had a proper name, but he didn't have to know that.
The beast was apparently more sensitive than he let on, because his tone became biting as he managed to latch onto Ezital's biggest insecurity with uncanny accuracy. He knew what they must think of him. His gaze fell to the grass between them for a moment and he shrugged again, slower this time.
"They don't see it coming," he said, recovering a little false bravado.
