Midas take away the pain inflicted on me, the hunger you're letting me feed Sun blessed our march. Harmless fire emerged from our hair, it followed our footsteps. We burned brightly as the throbbing heart of a dragon might. As a group we walked across the desert together, past the unfinished wall of steel. It was dark now and even with flames to light the path, hearts jittered. I carried them out of their homeland, a thing that had been previously thought impossible. Troubled minds took leave with a lingering glance and a promise to return once the territory was secure again. A deep sigh emerged, but fleeting looks wretched with sadness gave way to a higher purpose. The safety of this family came above all else. I spoke little on the way, only told them about what details I knew in regards to our temporary dwelling. The yawning entrance of Heloiva’s heart greeted our approach. I stared at the boiling pits of fire with unease. I led them on sturdy rock, my feet trailing golden fire with each step. Soon the entrance to yon cavern emerged. Guacho had already laid his relic against a large stone at the entrance. I paused before going in, stretching my power to cover the leather with gold. Gently I rose it up, carefully placing it dead center upon the stone to serve as a marking might. Gold melted into the stone, turning it from the simply granite, to something of rare beauty. His dream catcher shinning in the firelight to guide wayward souls. I smiled a little and motioned for us to head into the cave. We could talk more once inside. |
