Didn't you calm my fears with a Cheshire Cat smile?

Spice was a wanderer.
Ever since she was born, she always wanted to go somewhere else. Though she didn't know, she was just like her father. Always wanting an adventure. He had not left her mother, he had been on an adventure. Wasn't that excusable for not being there for your daughter's birth? Who knew.
Spice was a jumpy girl, just as her mother was when she was her age. But being Spice, kept to the inside of the fence, she was not allowed out of it. Her mother didn't want her to see the world just yet, keeping her hidden away, the only beautiful light they saw was the stars in the dark night sky, glimmering in her mothers eyes as they looked up each night. Pointing out shapes or new or different ones, telling them to get back into their rightful spots.
Spice would sigh, her breath warm as it clashed with her mother's skin. This meant story time. Her mother would then tell her the stories of snow and sea and wonder. She would tell the story of how Alice fell down that rabbit hole. And how she found wonderland. Though her mother didn't say anything about if Alice was a horse or not, Spice decided to see her as a rabbit. And interesting form. She had never seen a rabbit before, only in her mind. But she imagined it as a blue color, like the sky in the daylight. It's eyes reflecting the stars, even if there was no stars to look at, that was what resided in the eyes of the rabbit. It would be taller with a kind smile, a small muzzle and stand on four feet. Her mother had told her that rabbits where good at hopping, so she suggested that as well. Hopping feet. She didn't know what they would like but she would imagine something interesting.

The girl smiled at her odd thoughts, though she loved them, she agreed with herself that she seemed crazy. The definition of crazy was someone who didn't look like they knew what they where doing, living a life of thoughtfulness, although fear of which they will be eaten alive by something that only they can see. Well, that was what Spice's mother had told her on that one particularly starry night. She had listened to her stories for half the night, it felt. Spice loved that night they shared. It was wonderfully perfect. And she wished she had her mother then.

The regret weighing her down, stopping her in her tracks. She was in a white-covered wood. Every time she took a breath a puff of cloud would rise up in front of her. She whinnied happily. Continuing to breath, she watched the cloud appear and then disappear over and over. She liked this. She liked this soft crush of snow under her hooves, she liked the chilling feeling of cold on her body. She liked how it stung her eyes if she kept the open for too long. She liked the way...She liked the way that she felt when she was standing in this stuff.

It was perfect right there in that moment. She felt like she could stay there forever to savor the perfect moment.

Her mother wasn't just making that all up.

It was the whinny of the filly that caught Bucephalus's attention, and he halted his stride to listen, ears pricked. Oh? Seems his journey here wasn't without possible benefits. The crafter tilted his head, ears swiveling to pinpoint the source of the noise, and without hesitation he trotted towards the young pegasus. As she came into view, he couldn't help but smile at her seeming wonder of the snow. She looked young enough for this to be her first winter... or was it her second? It didn't particularly matter, but it amused the black. "Ho there, young one." He called, walking out from the trees, hoping he hadn't startled her with his arrival.

After the disaster with Levex and Aeolus, he wasn't quite sure how Gaucho would react to the possibility of yet another youngling, but he could hardly give a shit. "Never seen snow?" He asked, head tilting as he glanced down at the frigid white stuff. He himself didn't care for it; it was too cold. Summer heat was more of his style than winter chill. But, who was he to judge another's joys? Ears pricked towards the filly, an amused smile on his face. "My name is Bucephalus, may i ask yours...?" He hummed the question, gaze flickering over the young foal before him. She was young...he doubted she could even fly as of yet.

Yeah, Gaucho was not going to be happy. But still, even the youth contributed to the herd. And it wasn't like Levex and Aeolus were staying in Throat; he had plans to find their mother ASAP. So another foal to replace two wouldn't seem too bad.

"Tell Me Something Sweet To Get Me By"

Doing her best to ignore the chill of the winter air, a lovely palomino vixen pranced through the lands. With every step, it appeared as though the Arabian vixen was playing in the snow. Naturally, she missed the warmth of the fires that had been started in the Edge, but she felt it as a part of her duty to the herd to leave. Ever since the day she had first arrived to Helovia, the young mare's confidence and self-worth had risen. Jahzara not only had a home, but a new family, a rank of importance, and the desire to prove herself towards each and every one of them. With her new rank as Specter, she wanted to do her best to prove that she was perfectly capable of such a position. Though she was confident in herself, she was quite nervous about how the rest of the World's Edge viewed her. While it was not a protecter or General position, it was still a rank that she had to take seriously as it involved the protection of the entire herd.

To date, there was only so much she could do to protect the herd. Jahzara had performed some patrols on her own free time, but nothing had come up. That didn't stop her though, not with the darkness that had been around the lands of Helovia. It was of utmost importance to solve the murders, and with her team she was sure that they could put an end to them. But until then, she had to do her best for the herd. Which brought her to the Threshold once again. The last time she had come to these lands, she had brought home a warrior for the Edge, Meriwether. But it seemed that Meriwether had vanished, and the palomino feel guilty that she chose to welcome someone who would bail on the herd. So, she was following one of her illusions towards the Threshold in homes of finding more potential warriors.

In the Arabian's eyes, a purple pony bounced through the height of the snow, auds pinned back and glaring. While Jahzara pictured her best friend as struggling through the snow, bickering and muttering with a sassy attitude about how cold it was, no one else could possibly see the figment or the broken snow. To anyone else the snow beside the golden mare was as pristine as ever. 'Why are we heeeere, Jay? Can't we go home?' The pony whined to the Specter, and the mare merely shook her head and giggled. "Of course not, Lily. We must at least try to find newcomers!" And with the words barely escaping her lips, the shrill whinny of a filly caught her attention. As her ears perked up, a cheerful smile spread across her muzzle as she redirected her course towards the filly.

By the time she had broken through the trees and reached the filly, another being had already joined her. Tossing her forelock over her scarred, blind eye, the Arabian cross studied the pair. A twinge of envy hit her as she noted that each of them held wings. She didn't recognize the stallion, and if she had ever seen him before she would surely have remembered such a handsome stallion. Even her hallucination was impressed. Lily waltz forward towards the stallion, barely reaching his knees as she looked up at him with a cat-calling whistle. 'Hellooo, handsome!' "Lily!" The Arabian hissed under her breath, embarrassed of the pony's reaction. The illusion looked back at her best friend, frowning at being scolded. 'What?! Not like he can hear me anyways...' Jahzara merely rolled her eyes with a light shake of her head, the pony had a point, but it was still rude. Politely, she waited for the Pegasus stallion to finish his introductions before stepping forward. "Hello! I am Jahzara, of the World's Edge. A pleasure to meet both of you." With that, she dipped her head respectfully towards each of them before smiling at the filly to await a response. In the corner of her eye, Lily was rubbing up on Bucephalus's leg...'Oh, Lily...'

Didn't you calm my fears with a cheshire cat smile?

She had watched the glimmering snow, moving her head from side to side too see it shimmering, blue and silver sparkles seemed to dance on the top layer of snow. She smiled, and before she could even look surprised, she noticed the stallion. He was tall and dark, his wingtips where...Wait a second! He looked like her! Another Pegasus. Her mother had told her when she had asked about others, that there were some without wings. And some with sticks on their heads. The filly had laughed at such a thing, because what crazy equine would have a stick rising up out of their head?

But now that he saw this Pegasus, she thought differently. Was her mother just kidding about that? She surly wasn't lying about the snow. It was all over the place. Spice liked it, the different shades and sounds and feels and smells. The air smelled clear, other than the other. He had asked her a question, she nodded though that would be a lie. She had never seen this stuff in her life.

"No...I have never seen snow before. But I love it." She didn't know to address him by sir or not. Maybe Mister? She smiled at the markings on his eyes and wings. So different, the girl wished she had something like that...Maybe she could paint her own markings on herself. That would be wonderful, different...Extraordinary.
"Hello..." This was when another walked up, seemingly distracted by something else on the male's legs...She nodded at the female after she introduced herself. "Hello, to both of you. I am Sage. But please call me Spice." She smiles, it was warm and something different on her lips. It felt like she hadn't smiled in forever, she needed a reason.

Here was a reason.

Though the filly was curious to what a world's edge was, she only cocked her head to the side. Thinking back to the homeschooling-like thing her mother had said about being polite. She then wondered why she would have to learn that stuff if she would never meet anyone else. It seemed as though her mother would have kept her hidden away for as long as she could. "May I ask what a World's Edge is?" She didn't want to be rude, and couldn't read the expression of the female that well.
Gosh, what if it was really obvious? She probably looked like a fool.
The World's Edge, in her mind was the world. Everything she had seen so far cutting off into a dark abyss, the pit seemingly endless and the darkness seemingly infinite.
Though this was probably not what the mare meant, because she said she was from there. Who could live in an endless pit and infinite darkness? Not Spice.

ooc;; Hi! I love the markings on Bucephalus, and the illusions idea with Jahzara. So creative, and simply wonderful. c: <3

She truly was young then, if she had not seen snow before. That, or she had come from a place with little snowfall as he had. At her declared love for the frigid stuff, Buce couldn't help a chuckle. The crunching sound of snow under hoof caught his attention, and he turned his head to gaze upon a cream-colored mare, and his ears pricked sharp. The dip in the nose, long slender legs... kin. His dip of respect was earnest to the new mare

"Hello there. Im Bucephalus, of Dragon's Throat." He said to the mare who introduced herself as Jahzara. A suiting name for one of the desert bred. His gaze flickered to the filly, and amusement lit his gaze as she spoke. "I believe the World's Edge is a herd, just as the Dragon's Throat is a herd. By the sea, yes?" He asked, glancing to the palomino for confirmation, his ears pricked towards her, although his right ear twitched towards the filly. "Dragon's Throat is a desert herd, with mainly pegasi, however we do not discriminate to other breeds." He said, looking to Spice.

Okay, he couldn't resist any longer.

While the little filly's head was turned, he rolled a ball of the snow with his hoof, then flicked it towards her, aiming for her shoulder. Quickly he focused on Jahzara, expression curious and he gave no sign that he just did what he did save the amusement in his gold gaze, and he winked at Jahzara as if telling her to 'shh'.

"Tell Me Something Sweet To Get Me By"

"It's nice to meet you, Sa-, I mean, Spice." The golden princess wondered why the filly wanted to go by a different name, and if she really wanted to be known by another name, why would she even bother introducing her first name? The vixen's auds pricked at the filly's voice, smiling when the black stallion answered the questions before she had an opportunity too. Her crown tilted to the side as he spoke of the Dragon's Throat, having never met anyone from that particular herd before. When Bucephalus asked about the World's Edge location, a proud smile spread on her lips. "Oh, yes. It's a large, beautiful forest. We welcome all breeds as well. The World's Edge is my home, it is my family." Her healthy brown eye dropped down towards Lily, who had yet to pull herself away from the stallion's leg. That is, up until he kicked a snowball at the smaller pegasus.

The purple imaginary pony jumped at the sudden movement, and quickly ducked to avoid getting hit by the snowball herself. 'What was that for!?' Lily shouted for only Jahzara to hear, and the frustrated look on her best friend's face brought a smirk to Jahzara's muzzle. Her gaze darted back up to Bucephalus, just barely catching his playful wink. Oh! He played games! Would be welcome her to play as well? It had been so long since she was able to have fun with all her new responsibilities! Excitedly she began to shuffle her feet beneath her, which caught the eye of her hallucination. 'Jay, she's gonna think you did it!' But before the pony could talk some sense into her, Jahzara was rolling up a snowball of her own. Quickly, she lowered her head the the earth and buried her nose below the icy ball before flinging her crown upwards to toss the ball into the air towards the stallion. 'What the hell!' The pony dodged once again, this time fleeing from the stallion and running to hide behind Jahzara. The golden vixen giggled as she waited to see how the stallion and filly would respond.

Didn't you calm my fears with a Cheshire Cat smile?

The first thing the girl noticed, was that they both had peculiar names. Although, she shouldn't be talking as her mother would say. Spice had only known two other names in her lifetime. Hers, and Mother. Now these two. They were honestly, both beautiful names. Interesting and just so different Spice had to hold herself from asking what they even meant. But when the girl heard the word Dragon she dealt even more scared than when she heard about the World's Edge. They both sounded scary, but Dragons... Oh, the stories she was told about Dragons. Always so...Fiery. She hoped there where no dragons here. Where ever here was. "Are there dragons...In Dragons Throat?" She asked, a bit timidly.
But before she could get a reply, a ball of white fluff was hurtled at her. It hit her in the shoulder, planting a cold burst where it hit, the coldness spread. Her body. She loved it.
She loved this feeling.
She looked over at the smirking mare, and although she didn't seem like the kind of horse to start too much fun. Although, the smirk in her face was telling Spice otherwise. She had already been rolling up another to flick up at Spice. The little filly whinnied, her head tossing. It wasn't a graceful toss, it was a wild one. Hair flying eyes crazy and fun. The snowball hit her in the chest. It was so cold, and perfect. Spice loved the cold. She had decided on that.
She then bent over, muzzle down in the cold snow, rolling her own little ball, she flicked it up at Bucephalus, a little whinny erupting from her chest into the calm atmosphere turned playful and exiting. Her emerald eyes blinked several times before adjusting a gaze if stern, though challenging glaze to them.

ooc;; Hi! This was mobile, sorry for any horrid spelling!

Bucephalus saw the golden mare throw the snowball, and he dropped down just in time to feel it whiz past between his ears. He flashed her a grin, then blinked at the little filly's question. "No, there are no dragons. It is just...a metaphor i believe. Saying it is similar to a dragon's throat due to the heat of the desert sands." He said, and was promptly hit in the face with a snowball.

Well that escalated quickly. The black shook his head with a snort, then grinned at them both, mischief in his gaze. "So, it's like that then?" The stallion churned up the snow with his forehooves, making sure it was powder before he reared up. The powerful wings on his back unfurled and began pummeling the air, sending snow flying towards the two in gusts. He dropped back down and folded his wings, a rather pleased expression on his face. Revenge was sweet. His gaze flickered to the foal, checking on her to make sure she was alright. The cold didn't treat the young well.

As much as he'd rather play in the snow, he was not a creature meant for it. The cold could be kept away for only so long, and the black focused his gaze on Spice. "I could take you to my home, show you the sands of the desert. Unless you'd rather go with Jahzara." He said, gesturing to the palomino with a toss of his head and another subtly thrown snowball.

We dance all night to the best song ever Knew every line, now I can't remember

A memory remains just a tiny spark.
I give it all my oxygen, To let the flames begin. To let the flames begin.
Oh, glory. Oh, glory. This is how we'll dance when, When they try to take us down. This is what will be oh glory.

She nods to him when he explains that it's a metaphor.

What is a metaphor?

She didn't ask, because why look so stupid in the first place? She'd come off as...odd. Well, she guessed that many did coming to this land, as did these two when they first arrived...probably. The foal was merely guessing about this. All of a sudden, in her pondering, she was hit with fluffy white snow, the mare beside her as well. She hadn't noticed what was happening because she was too busy thinking right then and there.

Goodness.

Is what her mother would say. She smiled, laughed even. Then stood, stretching a wing out to brush some snow off the other mare (if there was help needed), then she helped herself, shaking violently, she smiled when she stopped, looking up at Buce when he spoke.
"Oh! I don't know..." Don't like dragons...even though there aren't any...hm... "Maybe I'll come later, I want to explore these lands of...Heloiva." She says, looking to him with emerald eyes that said sorry.

"Sorry, I just feel like I need to know Helovia before I find a home for myself." She said, though unknowing, that she would join the Throat soon with a new friend, and meet many others afterwards. Shunning happy thoughts of her mother and more. She was so oblivious to the future, it's kind of funny.
