No other angel had ever fallen so slowly. As the earth grew closer, the archangel drew his sword. The blade, once sheathed, shone brightly. The blue of the sky reflected in his eyes and he turned away from life as he knew it- as anyone did. In the time it took for him to fall, he thought not of his own death upon impact, but of how many would die while air slowed his descent.
He felt alone.

His touching of others will cause them to die, however, and he steals their life energy, which allows him to live longer and thus slow his fall, his death.
He felt alone: He must be alone physically or else he will kill others; he sort of isolates himself.
